Swipe Lock vs. Pattern Lock - Eris

just installed lock 2.0 free version. it sucks, it crashed my advanced task manager and it unlocks to lock 2.0 menu screen. LAME!

Yeah lock 2.0 is terrible.

This is one of the currently annoying sense problems. If you put pattern lock you have to do 2 unlocks. On the droid it will only give you the pattern lock. problem with the droid is the lockscreen SUCKS. You cant put your own wallpaper on it separate from the regular and it has no music control so whenever you want to change songs etc you have to unlock and navigate to your player.

I found the best solution is to use locale with the .99 lockscreen plugin and then set it to bring up your pattern only when you are away from home or places where you feel fairly secure.

This is strange. For a company that touts customization on their commercials - I should be able to "disable" something as simple as this. I could do this on phones back in the 90's. Maybe HTC will realize it needs to add a check box to disable its screen lock and have that in future releases. The pattern lock is pretty neat.

Hello

Is there anyway to disable the initial swipe lock screen and replace with the pattern lock? Seems silly to have a double lock.....the pattern seems much better to me.

This is why you need a lock screen.

Even though the patter lock would keep you from accidently opening apps or dialing a number, it does not serve the same purpose as the lock screen.

If it was in your pocket or purse, the eris would never go into sleep mode because of the constant contact with the patterns.
So if you think your battery is bad now... if you accomplished this it would be much worse.
Locks screen puts eris to sleep :D

Edit: WOW...lol. Just realized how old this thread is...
Oh well... JoshJR... this is for you lol

sorry to bump an old thread, but i had this problem after updating my x10 mini from 1.6 to 2.1. i tried lockbot , no lock and widget lock and none quite cut it. in the end "antilock" did the trick. it skips the swipe and goes straight to pattern. only problem is you have to then unlock to see the time!
if only it could go to pattern unlock with home key and just show the clock with back key or summats...
