I hate to be that guy, but BGR speculated that the release would be before the 9/12 MTV movie awards because "it is hard to imagine a high-profile sponsorship such as this not to coincide with a release of some sort."

I am sure some of you will remember all of those annoying Blackberry Storm teaser commercials during the the 2008 World Series. I think the phone launched 11/14/08. So Verizon has a history of doing this sort of thing. Da_n it!

What about the fact that employees usually train on the phone for 2 weeks before the launch- a concept that has been repeated by several Verizon employees to me personally and on these pages? If the 9th is the official release, then the employees are training on it now (9/9 is 2 weeks from today). If any big red employees are out there and confirm this, please, I beg you.
I agree with Android Central that the use of the word "launch" is quite suggestive, but given Verizon's history of using big media events to simply launch advertising campaigns several weeks ahead of an actual product launch and this 2 week training window period, my conservative estimate would be 9/30 at the absolute latest.
Either way, this is darn exciting.

Alhtough I am really pumped about the phone, I am really not looking forward to the silly commercials for this thing featuring Verizon be-spectacled dude and his cohort of "network" people. That guy has to go. Forgive me for saying it.

How is the battery life supposed to be on the Fascinate? I am hoping for something better than my Droid X. But from what I am hearing about the battery life on the Captivate and Vibrant, I shouldn't be expecting something on par with the iPhone 4? It may be a little bit better than the Droid X.

From what I've read so far, the battery on the DX lasts the longest amongst available android phones so far...

but we'll just have to wait for release. I tried the Vibrant and really wanted to like the phone but it was just too buggy. May have to wait for both to be updated to 2.2, GPS and email fixes before I can decide. Then there is the carrier cost, coverage and speed issues between Verizon and T-Mobile. Decisions, decisions and like most people on here, I want the best and I want it now! :D

Look at the X though it says it has 256 mb when it has 512 so it could easily be misprint and also look on another page it has 384 for the fascinate not the 336 on that page

The Epic doesn't have the GPS issue, so I doubt the Fascinate will. I'm not sure what the email bug is, but i'd suspect that won't be an issue either. 2.2....who knows, but it is coming.
