It will have a lower Dpi, and will look slightly less sharp, but that doesn't make it a downgrade. The larger screen is nice for all sorts of reasons. It's just pros and cons.

It is looking like an upgrade in quite a few other areas. If you are that concerned go for the Desire Z or for that matter buy an iPhone.

Rumour has it's the HTC Vision/G2 which has all but confirmed to be using the new Quallcom processor. It's a qwertyslider.
The G2 is rumoured to be stock android (not sure if this translates to the Desire z).

Otherwise pretty similar to the Desire HD except 3.7inch screen and qwertyslider I think.

Yes the desire Z will have those things, it will be 3G, it is a high end phone launch most likely not mid end and absolutely not low end, what gave you that idea?

It's almost certainly not running 3.0 and 1280x760 is the rumoured maximum supported resolution not the minimum.
