Root Problem using 3 step Simple Root

I got my Evo down to 2.1 with no problems at all. However, I tried the 3 step Simple Root and at the end of Step 1 when it loads up the zip, it says Main Version is Older! Update fail! What does that mean? What do I do???

I ran into the same issue using the latest version of Simple Root. The version I had only has two steps; Root and Flash Recovery.

Anyway, I was getting the same "Main Version is Older" error when trying to flash the rooted ROM. So what I did was:

1. Reboot the phone so you can start over
2. Before starting over, I unzipped simple root and replaced all its files
3. Started Simple Root
4. This time I DID NOT apply the update that Simple Root found
5. Start the simple root process

I got the "Main Version is Older" error twice before I followed the above steps. Seems like the simple root update was the culprit for me. YMMV.

Hope this helps.
