To Protect or Not Protect - Glass Screen

Well having just got a X10. It has a pre-installed screen protector.

HOWEVER

Somehow i managed to scratch the screen protector [UGH] and now i want to remove it however i'm having much difficulty removing it.

Now i'm thinking if i should get a replacement screen protector as the Rogers version doesn't come with a spare one or just go without it.

Anyone without the screen protector wanna add input about the durability of the mineral glass screen?

I know that the screen on the iPod Touch 2G is very durable since i own one without having a protector on but i want to know if the X10s screen is just as durable.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Just get that protection dude, honest if you ever keep change or keys in your pocket then not only get a screen protector but also get some sort of case for it too.

I still don't believe the screen comes fitted with a protector!

Both mine and my sister's came with screenprotectors. Mine is really scratched even though I always keep it alone in my pockets, never keys, coins etc. Maybe because I leave it face down on the nightstand cause the chargelight lights up the bedroom. But it's better than scratching the screen. :)

I think you should get a protector, get a matte one!

When I was getting my screen protector, the person helping me with it said that the stock screen protector is made of really crappy material, and that if you don't take it off, then it would leave marks later when you choose to get it off. Kinda scary, but the matte one looks nice!

Where did you find a matte one? Had a look fairly recently and couldn't find one in UK online. I have a Martin Fields one that I am constantly polishing to get rid of the finger prints.

Well I'm not sure about online, because I got mine at a mall. Are there any places over there that sell screen protectors? Because doing it yourself is a hassle too, might as well get the person selling you one to put it on for you as well.

There are so many asian stores here, it would just be a breeze to get a screen protector haha.

Still thinking if i should jump ship from Android to iOS [cuz Rogers doesn't offer any good Android devices yet]

Don't do it man! iPhone 4 is alright I guess, but I have an iPod Touch and it'd just be too repetitive. I'd be bored of the OS sooo quickly.

And I just realized that you're also from Vancouver haha nice~

Yeah i have an iPod Touch too, thats why i wasn't really thinking of the iPhone 4 anyways.

I'll probably end up keeping the X10, gonna miss having multi-touch [such as for games but hey, ipod touch haha]

Still need to find a screen protector though haha

Anyone wanna shed some light on an easy method to take the screen protector off?

Haha, you're exactly like me. I have the X10 and a 2nd gen iPod Touch. I just carry both of them around, could care less for the bulk. And you're right, I don't need multitouch cuz I got my X10 for calls, text, GPS, bluetooth, etc. and iTouch for gaming and music.

And you really need to get a matte screen protector. Depending on where you live in Vancouver, I'm sure you can find one at Crystal Mall or Lansdowne Mall for less than $10. I believe Crystal Mall has it for $7 (at least when I did it back in April) and the lady even puts it on for you, just make sure you ask her to peel the stock one off for you before she applies the new one on. So no need to peel it off yourself ;)
