Just a warning to those who are still using the old version of Google Voice with Verizon's Friends & Family and are thinking of updating:
The newer versions of Google Voice use dedicated numbers for each of your contacts instead of calling out using a centralized server number. What this means is that you can no longer put in your Google Voice outgoing server number on your Friends & Family plan to get free calls. That's why I have not updated to the newer version of GV on the Droid X nor will I install this ripped version from the G2. The one advantage, however, is that outgoing calls should start faster since the GV app does not need to contact the GV server - it just calls the direct number that it assigns to each contact. The disadvantage, of course, is that you lose the Friends & Family single number for outgoing calls.
