So every time I open up ROM Manager and click on anything it says "You must have CLockworkMod recovery installed before continuing! Install the recovery through ROM Manager first." Then gives a an "Install" and "Cancel" button. What should I do. I have the bootstrap loader installed. Just upgraded to premium because I support the dev.

jonathanmsims,

I might be wrong, but I'm guessing that the ROM Manager is actually looking at the recovery partition and seeing that its the stock one... I think that since Koush's Droid X Recovery works by hijacking the boot process, that there really is no custom recovery (i.e., ClockworkMod) installed over-top of the recovery partition--and that must be what the ROM manager is checking.

Koush's web page (My Brain Hurts: Droid X Recovery) still says this:

"Will this work with ROM Manager?
Yes, but not yet. I need to make some minor updates to ROM Manager first to support this recovery. Future recovery updates will come through ROM Manager."

So, you might just be a little early in trying to use ROM Manager on the X.

actually I'm fairly certain you will still need to click install, ROM manager will not work without this. I do believe though you need to be bootstrapped as well. I've used ROM manager to install the stock rooted froyo within it and it worked without a problem.

Correct.

And ROM manager has worked with Koush's recovery since the day he updated the bootstrapper and put the rooted 2.2 leak up on it. (otherwise you wouldn't be able to use it to flash the leak 2.2)

When it complains about clockwork recovery tell it to update it and your good to go after that..
