I like the phone but my issue with it turning off for no apparent reason is bugging me. Hopefully we get the common bug fixes soon.

I really like having the Allshare feature with my phone and Samsung TV. Being able to playback my videos and pictures on my TV with a touch of the screen and wireless connection is awesom.

While I tinker a bit, I'm in no way a power user and for me it's fantastic. A pure joy to use. Yes, kies works sometimes and not others for me. No gps problems here. Plenty of internal memory, tonnes for apps. Screen freaks me out every time I look at it. My third samsung smartphone in a row and they get better every time, by like a mile!

I hope Samsung makes a Kies Windows 7 fix.

Cant get the damn phone to work with kies after trying everything.

@MElll Look at this link
http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s/160983-cannot-install-galaxy-s-driver.html#post1469866

its how i got my mine to work. There are other ways out there that may be a shorter version, such as a link in this forum that has a program that seeks out 16 digit extension files on the phone which cause connecting to Win 7 to fail here - http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...000-mtp-application-crashing.html#post1446922

Think the main gripes with this phone are the lag, the software and the GPs issues. Other than that its a great phone. I have lag still even though I have upgraded to the latest 2.1 firmware JM5 but it still lags. it was ok at first but the longer I go with it the worse it seems to get.

With the JM5 the GPS seems to work fine for me.

Very happy with the phone, I'm not really bothered about 2.2 atm or the bugs, 2.1 plus fixes from the community and the phone is great, super smooth after lag fix. I think the interface is great, much nicer visually than sense which I think is highly overrated.

Only reason I want 2.2 is for full flash support, but I guess flashlite will do until then...

I hope Samsung makes a Kies Windows 7 fix.

Working fine here with Windows 7.

My first smartphone and im not really a tinkerer. Have to say that out of the box I was impressed but after tinkering with LPP and the like i love it now.
My mate got an iphone just before I got this and knowing him he would hate it. Seems to me that most people dont use TW with the SGS and if thats all we had would we love it as much?

This is my first touch screen phone so I like the big screen feel.

I've to admit I had to root it (to get rid of some bloatwares by my carrier) and use the Lag Fix to speed things up, without which it's unbearable.

For a semi-technical person I am, I'm happy with the phone. Frankly, I won't recommend it to non-tech people, they would be better off with a iPhone which is plug and play (prey).

Yeah, I use Launcher Pro. TW was ok, but LP is more customisable.

...Only thing missing is some way to go back through a line of text and correct typos. The Portal has a cursor button at the bottom, and the iphone lets you magnify text by pressing on it. I can't find a similarly easy way of doing it with my SGS.

Actually there is a way, long press the '?123' button and you get directional arrows. Very helpful indeed.

Overall I love the phone, few issues here and there but every problem we encounter has a fix to it so the community is just fantastic! Here's to a prompt but more important un-sucky release of froyo next month. :D
