Root Kaosfroyo 2.2

Forgive me if I say anything inaccurate, but I'm super new at this. I managed to root my phone with nonsensikal v4.6 blue and am very happy with my results, but I am admittedly curious and attracted to the concept of roms. I've been ghosting the threads hunting for the link to upload kaosfroyo 2.2 but I'm not finding too much. Can I get a little help?

And, uh, for those that ARE more experienced with this subject, am I making the right decision to switch from nonsensikal to kaos?

I'm on the fence whether or not to to try nonsensikal as I am pretty happy with KFv30. I'm holing off on v31, hoping v32 might have some new goodies :). What I really am hoping for is a sense based froyo for flash lite and my widgets back.

Nonsensikal is pretty nice. My phone's nice and zippy. :) I'd like to see sense again as well. What I really miss as of now is the htc clock with the weather widget.

Dude just download "weather and toggle widget" from the market for like 2 bucks and you can configure an exact replica of the htc weather clock or even nicer, a transparent glass weather clock with the exact same sun and moon. theres even an add on for full screen animations. or if you don't wanna spend any money theres also fancy widget :D

I refuese to pay for things that, IMHO, I already paid for. Heck, if that were the case I'd pay for LauncherPro Plus (already using LP free) and get the widgets.

sense was the problem. point made end of convo

I respectfully disagree. Sense with all the bloatware was the problem. xtrSENSE is a great sense ROM and great ROM end of subject period.

Question about KF to anyone using it. Do you have to use A2SD or can you flash and run it without? I'm interested in trying FroYo ROM's but don't need or want to set up A2SD. Thanks in response for a reply

There is A2SD and it works without partitioning your sd card just format it back to normal FAT32 if you did partition for sense ROMS if you didnt partition your sd card dont worry about it and it will work just fine and still be able to transfer apps. I like FROYO it is so much lighter and fast on your phone compared to sense which i hated dearly, this rom is ready for prime time everyday use IMO. Check it out you wont be disapointed. I dont think I'll ever go back to sense!!

But is it an option that I have to use? I'm on xtrSENSE now and I have the option to have a2sd set up and I chose not to. If I have to have a2sd set up to change my SD card I'd just have to boot to recovery and switch it from ext 2 to ext 3? I want to try out FroYo because there's so much hype surrounding it. But I actually really like sense so I'm not sure if I'd stay with FroYo. I, like others have stated, can't justifiy paying for widgets that come free on sense. I don't have that many apps/widgets so running a2sd isn't really important to me.

NO, no, no with FROYO there is no partitioning your sd card, just make sure its formatted normally with FAT32, no changing ext2 to 3 there is no need for that. FROYO's build lets you transfer apps to sd without partition if you wanna save room just make sure the app is compatible first.

Oh, ok, that's good to know. Is there an issue going back to a 2.1 ROM, like xtrSENSE, after being on a 2.2?

No just back up your ROM of xtrsense "via NANDROID" before you flash froyo, so when you try out froyo and for some reason you dont like it, just wipe and restore your latest NANDROID of xtrsense via recovery and BAM back to your xtrSENSE ROM with no problems but make sure when you flash roms and restore roms your battery is at least 85% or higher cause weird thing happen if you flash with a low battery just a quick tip
