D1, running lithium mod I noticed that the camera images are really blurry when taking pics further than maybe a foot away. I flashed back to BB 0.4 and still have a problem. Anyone know what's going on, which ROM I should use and if there is a fix?

Did it do it running stock? I seriously doubt it has anything to do with your rom. Chances are that it is a hardware issue. Trying flashing back to stock and see if you have the same issues.

No. I've had it since droid came out (well maybe 3 months after) and I never had a problem up until a couple weeks ago when I noticed it for the first time. When you say flash back to stock, which ROM is that? I am confused w/ so many roms out there. Do you mean revert back to unrooted?

I guess I can use titanium and put the oldest camera backup I have on there

No, you do not have to unroot. Did you do nandroid before downloading a rom? If so, revert back to that. I seriously think its your hardware tho.

I reverted back to the first ever rooted ROM that I got from droid life's guide to rooting and the camera is still fuzzy.

I check back and saw that on June 11 I took some crystal clear pics. Sometime between then and now I ran into a problem. I dropped my phone only once and I dropped it screen side down. It's got a body glove protector and didn't have any damage. Something happened between June 11 and now, but I am very careful w/ my phone and other than this drop I haven't done anything else or treated it roughly. Actually I think I dropped it prior to June 11.

What to do? I can't very well take it to Verizon.

It's also on auto focus

This might sound to simple of a solution but it is exactly what happened to me , check the lens of the camera and clean it with an eyeglass cloth or similar lint free soft cloth. The lens gets fingerprint grease on it just like the touchscreen and blurs the picture, no BS, try it out before going any further and see if it is the problem. I hope this helps.

I forgot to mention I am also rooted and have been using BBv.4 since it released. I load and change apps, roms, kernels constantly and have dropped my badass Droid1 numerous times with just a few knicks to show for some pretty wicked drops. No ill effects to any sensors or hardware ie.(camera). The headphone jack is becoming an issue but that is a manufacturers defect and if it fails before Nov. Its under warranty. (Not insurance, manufacturers warranty)

When you lightly press the camera button do you get 4 green bars on the corners of the screen, or do you get 4 red bars on the corners of the screen. If you get 4 red bars it is a known issue that has been around since the Droid came out. My original droid that I got in Jan. had that issue and verizon replaced it for under warranty.

If that is the case and you use your camera frequently, I would suggest unrooting, and taking it back to verizon.

I was hoping that would be the case! I took out an eyeglass cleaner and silk cloth and scrubbed the hell out of it, however that didn't help

Bars where? does it matter if it's in portrait or landscape mode? I just see that the picture is "framed" around each corner when I press the button. These corners turn red when I take the picture, probably signaling to the operator not to move because the pic is being taken. I don't see green or red bars anyplace.

Nope, that Frame was what I am talking about. When the focus is working properly they turn green. When it doesnt work properly they turn red and takes the picture out of focus. That was the exact problem that I was having. Sounds like your camera/flash is faulty and needs to be replaced. I would take it to verizon and get it replaced under warranty.

BTW....I had those issues before I rooted my phone. Do a search on here and you will see that plenty of people have had camera issues from Nov. 09

Did yours work fine at one point? Because my camera was working great when I first got it.

Thanks. Did you have to unroot before you took it in? Did they just give you a new flash/camera or did they replace the whole phone? Do you know how long the D1 is under warranty? Of course I voided my warranty when I rooted

The D1 is under warranty from manu for a year. This happened before I rooted...I say unroot and go to the store
