I'm a Verizon customer and will soon be upgrading to an android device. If you all don't mind, cuz I'm sure you're smarter than me, can you help me with a few questions to help me decide? Deciding mainly between Droid 2, Droid X, and LG Ally.

1.) Can I open PDF files with any/all of these?

2.) Can I use microsoft outlook to sync email/calendar with any/all of these?

3.) Is one or the other better for corporate email if we use Exchange?

4.) How significant is the difference in speed of the Ally versus the X or Droid 2?

5.) Are any/all compatible with Lotus notes?

6.) Can any/all of these open Microsoft documents/spreadsheets?

Thanks in advance!!!

1.) Can I open PDF files with any/all of these?

Yes, there are apps to open pdf files.

3.) Is one or the other better for corporate email if we use Exchange?

All of those phones will be exactly the same.

5.) Are any/all compatible with Lotus notes?

I'm sure theres an app for that.

6.) Can any/all of these open Microsoft documents/spreadsheets?

There's an app called Documents to Go. the free version can open word, excel, and powerpoint files. The paid version can edit those.

Couple follow up questions...

1.) Can I transfer files (pics, video, audio) to computer from phone and vice versa using a USB cable?

2.) Can I transfer files (pics/video/audio) to computer from phone and vice versa using a Micro SD card?

When you plug in the phone via USB you get the option to mount as storage. Then is simply copying files from that point. You can also copy them using the Micro SD card, but depending where the slot is on each phone, it might be a pain. With my Nexus One, you have to remove the battery to get to it, so it's a reboot every time.

The questions you asked can all be solved with an app, since all those phones support apps its not an issue, you want to pay attention to the power of phones though. I have the LG Ally and I'll tell you ahead, if you are planning on playing intense 3D games dont even try this phone, but other than that its an awesome phone, love mine.
