Better Thanks count tracker?

Being a total thanks whore i would love to see a better way to track what posts of mine are thanked. If i get a thank it goes on my list which i can easily track. But then if two weeks later someone thanks that same post it stays ordered the same, meaning i would (i actually do this, it sucks) have to open every one of my thanked posts to see which one got a recent thanks. Would love to see either each post have a number of thanks listed (probably the more realistic of the two?) or the oder in which they are shown in your profile reflect the newest thanks, even if it had been previously thanked. Thanks for reading (if anyone actually does, lol) and please if i half assed my explanation (i do that) PM me. Would love to see this implemented as it is my only negative i have concerning this forum
Well that and the fact i haven't made mod yet:rolleyes::cool:

I like the thanks button being there, but I don't like the thanks count being where it is.

I, too, have great appreciation for being thanked in the forums. However I'd like to see the displayed post count and the thanks count go away, although they could both be in the member's profile.

The date of joining could remain over there on the left, along with device(s) of interest and perhaps general geographical location as they are now.

The thanks button at the bottom of our posts could also remain, but once pressed it would bring up the visitor message text field, perhaps in a new window, in the thanked person's profile so that the thanker could, if s/he wished, leave a remark, which would be identified with their user name as the messages now are.

I don't mind the location myself and i dont see many people at all actually submitting comments either. Lord knows i been wrong plenty of times though.
+1 Yeah, I was thinking that the listing of thanks posts need to be updated. Was going to put a suggestion...but never got around to it XD But this would be nice for people that follow their thanks counts :)
Thanks for the support Roze. Would love to see some kind of update for the way to see who has thanked.

I guess I'm not as much of a fan of any sort of "grading" of posts as a feature of the forums, even though the thanks button is barely a form of that, it seems to be sort of in that category.

When I see a user here make a post with, "thank you for the help," I feel like I've not only helped somebody, it's done some good and there is expressed appreciation right there; no button necessary.

But, to temper what I just said a bit, I myself use the thanks button because it's there, and often that button is used in the same way that smileys and emoticons are used; another way to try to overcome the shortcomings of communicating in a text field as opposed to speaking in person with one another.

We need as much of that as we can get in here, I guess. ;)

Thanks for that last part frisco, it's good to see that even though you don't really agree with the thanks system you understand it's usefulness. Well not that you don't agree with it but you know what i mean. All in all i look at it as just another tool to help with communication. I completely agree with you there. Of course I AM a thanks whore so of course i would!!:D

Trust me when I tell you this. As a former thank whore, thanks are empty. There's so much more in life to live for. You can do it! Overcome! Let my freedom from this addiction inspire you! ;)

insert thanks below here......................................................................................>>>

Coming from the guy who has 2,500:rolleyes:
Honestly i just wish it was easier to see who has thanked you. I like to know who has found my post helpful.
It just bugs me that they are listed in our profile in order of the post, if someone came across a post of mine from months ago and thanked it i would have no way to know without going through multiple pages and opening each one.
Same if multiple people thank the same post. If 10 thank a post that means to me that the post was VERY helpful and that solution or whatever would be viable advice for many others. Unfortunately there is NO way to tell that.
Obviously this is something that is unnecessary, or to complicated to mess with and i'm good with that i suppose... would be nice though

We just need do your best to help, follow up if need be, and move on to the next issue.

To me, the "thanks" button, and the count of it being clicked adding up, has not much at all to do with our value here as staffers. That's all in the background, hopefully a reputation for the site building up.

We see users in threads clicking the thanks button for any response at all to their posts, even agreement on a political issue or whatever, and we'll see no thanks at all for researching and posting detailed instructions out of a bunch of problems a user is mired in; knowing we helped, though, is where it's at.

It doesn't matter either way, as long as we're doing our best; I wish the thing was not there at all, but it's not a huge deal either way because the tasks will always be here. ;)

Your right, We need to do your best:D:D
Fact is with being subscribed to 1400 threads it's hard to keep track of everything i would like.

It's not about thanks=value, or ANYTHING to do with being a 'staffer'. Those new to forums, like i was when i came here, appreciated things like people 'thanking' them(IMO). The thanks is a tool i use, because it's there, if it wasn't there then i'm pretty sure i would still sleep at night.
The purpose of this thread was my suggestion that it could be implemented better IMO. The idea has obviously been rejected and i'm am completely fine with that.

Look frisco, no offense, but you made it quiet clear 3 months ago that you don't agree/like the whole thanks thing. I hear ya, i understand what your trying to say, really i do. I just don't agree with how you are looking at it, and i can't , nor do i care to, explain how i am looking at it.
Just saying that i really don't care all that much, again not trying to be a dick. I am completely cool with agreeing to disagree.

All that being said my last few posts in here have been jokingly/ made out of boredom. In case no one noticed with the whole NOOOOOOOO thing:rolleyes:
I bumped once, then for the hell of it bumped and said something about fishing, and got a couple replies(even one from the boss man where he commented on the 'NOOOOOO' but nothing else, which was the final confirmation that this idea isn't viable, period, end of story.
But as long as people keep posting here then i will keep replying......

BTW; if anything i have said makes sense or helps in anyway please don't forget to 'thank' me:rolleyes::rolleyes:
