Help Sending a Spanish Text outside of VZ network

Anyone having problems sending a text message in spanish in the latest 2.2 RUU o/s? Actually i had this same problem in 2.2 with other custom roms, i was hoping this "official" release would fix it.

Whenever I send a text message in spanish using either stock or Handcent outside of the verizon wireless network the other party doesn't get it. However, if i send it within verizon it works fine??

Are you using accented characters? It's possible these aren't being transmitted correctly to the other carrier.

Yeah i've been using accented characters, when I use google voice it works fine, just tried sending another message without accented characters and it was sent correctly, not sure why this would cause a problem, especially since within verizon they are sent correctly.

Most likely it's just a conversion between carriers, so the carrier you're sending it to thinks there's something wrong with the text or doesn't support the accented character strings coming from Verizon.
