A droid x fml

I was just made eligible for an upgrade and I've been wanting to get the droid x. The last I saw it said it wouldn't ship untill 8/25. So i waited. It's now the 30th and today was the only day all month that I could go out and buy the phone and work out all my contract bugs and now its sold out again. 5 days. I missed my window of oppurtunity by 5 days. Now i have to wait another 2 weeks and possibly wait outside a verizon store all day and all night in hopes of being able to buy a droid x. And what really upsets me is I went to go buy it this past sunday, it was 10:30. Verizon stores dont open untill 11 on sundays. I had a basebal game to get to across the state and didnt have time to wait for it to open. So i hope to god it wont sell out on September 13 before i can get my hands on one.

Why can't you buy it online from the verizon site? You are already a verizon customer so I don't see all the "bugs" you have to iron out. You select the phone, the data package and thats it?

Anything else you need to change you should be able to on myverizon on their website. Goodluck though!

Also maybe try bestbuy? They were pretty helpful when I upgraded through them in the past. Seems they also have the x in stock right now amazingly.

Or just go to the store, oreder it, and wait for it to ship. The wait won't kill you. Ordered mine on 8/18, it arrives tomorrow, and my heart is still beating.

a lot of walmarts have them in stock, i wish i had checked before i ordered my x cause my walmart had 4 in stock

Contract bugs? I suggest you order online or else you will be in self-perpetual delay in getting the phone lol

When I ordered my phone online, it shipped sooner than the date it was expected to ship.

Yeah. I got mine on launch day at walmart. I called them that day to see if they had them in stock, and caught them off guard. The tech department didn't even know about the phone before I called. I heard his reactions to opening up the display model and everything lol

If you have a Costco near you that has a verizon wireless kiosk, put your name and contact info down if the droid isnt in. They will contact you when it arrives. Method I did. Got an x in two days.

Also the Walmart idea..seems they always have two (2) phones left in stock no matter what village they're in.

You won't get one at a corporate Verizon store anyway. They've been sold out since the phone came out. The backorder has also been constant. The date gets pushed back another day or so every day. If you don't order it eventually you will be waiting forever. There are no signs of being able to go online and get one or go to a Verizon store and get one anytime soon. Chances are if you were able to get to a store they won't have one and you'll be waiting anyway.

Today I tried to get a Droid X, but God wouldn't allow me. FML.

yeah, i dont think you're understanding correctly... the last time you went in, and they told you the ship date, that was the day it would ship if you ordered on that day (not the day they would have some). so, there is the same issue today. the 13th is the date it will ship by, not the date they will get a shipment. on the 13th, the ship by date will likely be the 27th (unless the fascinate slows droid x orders by enough to reduce the backorder.

I ordered a new one last week on Sunday night, and it arrived Tuesday morning.
