Help should I flash?

hi all, im currently running JF3, which im aware is a old version of the firmware. I think I know what im doing with flashing a firmware.
Just theres so many to choose from I have no idea what one to choose?
Also is it worth me upgrading? like is there a big performance increase?

There aren't any to choose from, not officially.

Use Kies, and flash the (only) official Samsung upgrade, JM1, if you ask me. It definitely made my phone more responsive in many situations and added some nice features (like the task manager). I don't really see the point in fannying about trying to flash an unofficial one at this point

(If you find there are still issues after you have the newest official firmware, maybe then consider unofficial ones )

I flashed it last weekend with kies. Beside the fact that I wasn't aware that It clear the contacts and app installed (backup first) it have not destabilized the platform.

The task manager seem less bugy and i've experience a better connectivity with my windows 7 workstation. I would say that dont bother unless you have issues with your SGS relative with those aspect, I can't say for sure if the GPS is better or the UI is more responsive so I would not comment on these.

I may add that the battery life is slightly better also.

ive tried through kies, but says im on the latest version or something. Have also tried putting into test mode but still nothing. This is what is making think I should flash using odin

That means you already have the latest firmware available for your region. Not all regions have the same firmware version.

I'd leave it and wait for the update which is due very soon. Then see how you go. Whilst mine is flashed I just gave the same advise to my brother who just bought one- seems silly to flash when the update is 4 weeks away max

hmm i might just wait a bit then, im all ready rooted with a lag fix but im sure thats easy to get rid of
