Have a Hero on Orange. Had it 2 months and ive had problems browsing since I got it.
When browsing using the mobile network it would just stay on one notch of the green bar progress indicator and either stick like that or come up with the "page not found" screen.
This would happen too often, probably about 30% of my attempts to look at a page.....all locations in UK.

Never had a problem with wifi, finds the page quickly every time.

I have just returned from abroad and before I went I purchased a 30 day roaming data package.

When I arrived the phone defaulted to T-Mobile NL, and for the next 5 days I had complete trouble free very fast mobile network connections, 100% found every page I looked for.

Returned to UK and back on Orange network Im having the same problems connecting to pages on the mobile network.

So I can only presume from this that The Orange network is at fault, and not the phone.

I have read lots of threads on here about the Hero having poor reception problems, well when I was abroad on a different network it acted like a different phone, signal bursting out the phone, mobile network absolutely bang on.

Returned home and back to the loss of signal, texts not getting sent, "no page found" problems I had before I left.

I've noticed this as well. But just to throw a spanner into the works about it being an orange network fault, i've got a G2 on T-Mobile. Had the phone about a week and a half and I have the latest sotware update from T-Mobile's website. At the moment I'm using the default browser. I will try another and let you know if it helps me.

on a side note, does anyone else find the double tap to zoom function of the default browser to be completely useless half the time?
I always assumed that this is a misfeature where the app lags for a moment and somehow interprets the two taps as two fingers at once, zooming in. It usually happens to me if i accidentally double-tap a page when it is still loading, and the scrolling is a bit choppy. (A kingdom for a Hero 2 with the Snapdragon CPU!)
