Root RomWrapper?

that does sound linke a good idea, but you still have to go through basically the same procedure to install it...right?

well i guess you wouldnt need to worry about having root, or having a specific version if you did it that way

Depending on the package type it depends. if it's in a zip file like the 2.2 update is you load it on the memory card, go into the boot loader and click update using update.zip

Using th sbf file you would have to connect to your computer and flash using rsdlite.

With that said having it packaged would make the custom roms more indepth and more full/less likely for issues or errors.
For instance, when updating to 2.2 you must make sure all of the apk's are intact, there is no theme, etc. Although, on the other side of things using koushes recovery menu to make a recovery or to recover from a bad flash, etc. you have more access to certain things, and apk's won't be an issue.. now with that said i am not experienced with custom roms, so i can't say for sure.
