Help HELP!! disabling wifi freezes

[fdisk]

a couple times a week android get disconnectted on wifi, but it's wifi status becomes "disabling"
it never really disables it, and I can't enable it again
the only way I found to fix that issue is rebooting

any suggestions?

Happened to me once, are you using the android widget? Have you tried going into airplane mode when it does that?

tried that, didn't fix

any other ideas?

is it possible that an app is causing this problem (non-rooted)?

Hmmmm. Use system panel and next time it happens open SP and see if you can tell if an app is using an unusual amount of cpu, in the mean time i'm gonna move this thread to the support section for the droid. Maybe some of the other droid users will have some more ideas.

nmayer's advice is spot on - check and see if there is an app (or group of apps) that are running, or services, that might be attempting to use the WiFi connection as well while it is trying to close down - like sync....

so, today it happened again (twice)
I killed ALL apps (with System Panel) and the problem persisted

just solved after a reboot

does that mean it's an Android bug?

more likely it is a phone problem... might have a defective unit...
Anyone else got any ideas???
