I've been refraining from updating to any of the new froyo roms (or any Froyo leak, for that matter) Simply because I don't know how to really make a nandroid back up.
From what I've been reading for the past 4 days, there are 2 ways to make a nandroid back up. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
1. Using Clockwork's Rom Manager
2. Koush's Boot Strap
Which is the most efficient way of backing up my phone? Another question, when making a nandroid back up - you're simply backing up the settings and the insides of your phone and not your apps?
So if nandroid backup doesn't recover or backup your applications, then what is the suggested method for that as well?
I have downloaded RSD lite 4.7, and have downloaded the Deodex/Froyo rom but I haven't touched it. The RSD lite will only be used to "flash" my phone back into stock right?
In my little "android" folder (on my pc) I also have "android-sdk_r06-windows" I can't seem to install SDK because of the fact that my tethering won't allow me to go through https. Will I ever need SDK throughout any of this?
I'm not necessarily asking how to install any of the custom Roms, but more or so asking what is the most effective way of going about backing up my phone as well as the apps, and maybe a little explanation of what each tool does?
Sorry if I'm asking for a little too much, but I would really like to experiment with my phone without being so hesitant. I'm real adamant on learning as much as I can about what I own and what I do, and I'd appreciate everyone or anyone's input.
inb4; I've googled, forum searched, and youtubed explanations for all of this but only found things on EVO and droid1.
Thanks guys.
