Hi I'm about to get a new phone from telus and I'm deciding on mainly bb bold 9700 htc desire or htc hero. It's probably going to be the desire or hero though. I know the desire is newer and is better overall except the appearance. The white hero looks amazing but the desire look horrible. So I'm not sure which to get.

Have to completely agree with the two previous posters. To pick a phone based purely on looks is not the best thing to do.

The Hero was and still is a pretty good phone but the Desire completely out does it in every area. It can handle anything that you throw at it now and will be able to for quite a while to come. there Hero on the other hand is getting old now and although you can root etc and add new hardware I would think its coming close to its limits. There are so many things that are better with the Desire and nothing (unless you think it looks better) that is better with the Hero...Go in the shop, put them nest to each other and start them up at the same time...Just look at the quality difference with the screens :D

Anyways the Desire is one sexy looking phone...Mmmmm strokey strokey :p

What I do like about BB is the facebook integration. Far superior to android, although using a few alternative applications, I have managed to level out the playing field somewhat.

I've just made a shortcut in Folderorganiser to the facebook website on my home page and used a FB icon from buuf. Matches all my others and as it goes to the main site its better than any BB version :)

Thats my opinion anyways.

What are you using, if I may ask, for FB?

Well I use Facebook for android as the main application for FB sync, then Pure messenger for status updates, Ebo Birthday for Facebook Birthday contact integration and also for Calendar integration, then SyncmyPix for Facebook contact pictures updates.

I have the HTC Desire and a Bold 9000. The Desire wins hands down as it is just such a cool device. The Bold 9000 does have a FREE messenger service between other Blackberry handsets, but that is really the only benefit.

I find that the latest Facebbok for Android app is really good.

The keyboard is great too. Trackball....

I read that and thought that was a long winded way of doing it but when i thought about it mine is pretty much the same. I use HTC's Friend Stream for updates. I did use Ebo Birthday but they have now built in FB birthdays into Froyo so deleted that. I do use FB for android to upload my pics but gonna give SyncmyPix a go to see what thats like.

You need to enable it within language and keyboard within settings. Then long press any text input area and select input method.

It takes a while to get used to but it's very fast once you do :)

Got it to work and it really is amazing!!!

Sorry had to go into a meeting :D Back to the real world.

As snowmobile said above! That should sort it.

I reckon I could do 40wpm with my thumb using swype its that fast!

Just got 32 words a min and only a few mistakes!
