Help Factory Reset for Dummies...

Hi all. I did the zip file last night and I might be one of those people who needs to do a factory reset to get the most out of Froyo. My phone just seems to have it's zip, or pop. When I type in texts (HANDSENT) it is laggy. Changing from app to app is also a bit choppy. So, I'm thinking of factory resetting, but want all the skinny on doing that. A few question...

1. Exactly how do I do the reset? I kow I go into settings, sd card and memory and then I need to know exactly which button do I hit?

2. If I backed EVERYTHING up using MYBACKUP PRO and have it all saved to my SD card, do I just reboot the phone upon factory resetting and then access that app and restore? Will everything be the same as before? Will that app even be there to begin with? Again, feel free to treat me like a complete dummy. I'm cool with that.

3. Before doing all of this, should I just try ANOTHER battery pull? It will have been my second pull since doing the zip update? Could that be it? Thanks.

1) You choose the one labeled "Factory Data Reset."

2) If you restore everything, then it makes the rest you just did rather pointless. The point of doing a reset is to work with a clean slate. Restoring everything exactly as it is right now puts you right back in the same position you are right now. Restore your apps and perhaps their data, but take the time to configure your system settings yourself.

3) It wouldn't hurt to try another battery pull, but I honestly don't think it will do any good in this situation.

Can you explain "configure your settings yourself?" I'm sorry, I'm not TOTALLY understanding. And the only two things I can save with MYBACKUP PRO is data and apps and that's what you said I should restore, yet you kindly mentioned about not restoring everything, except that is my everything. Again, sorry for being a NOOB. And thanks for your help.
