Copying the contents to pc & reformatting the card is the only way i know that works.

Sometimes when I plug my phone in, Windows asks to scan it for errors. Could this resolve the issue above too?!

If you are using windows 7 at all & happen to disconnect the phone before windows informs you its ok, then windows will want to scan for errors next time you connect.
This only happens in disk drive mode.

how do u copy the content to the pc as when i do it it dose not let me put it back on the sd card ?

You either need use a card reader or select disk drive mode when you connect the phone to the pc

Errr... Sorry I don't think I was clear. I know why it happens and what to do. I'm a Desktop Engineer ;)

I was just wondering if the scan can be provoked, it could resolve the OP's issue

And I'm an IT Consultant. Of course I'm going to tell you what you already know :p :D

Seriously, I was only giving my experience. When I had this problem, ejecting it stopped it happening next time I connected.

Ok. probably easiest plug your phone into PC, select disk drive in notification area. Open the drive in my computer and copy the contents to a folder named SDCARD onyour pc desktop or something.

Select charge only in notification area and unplug the phone.

Then go Menu>Settings>Sd card and phone storage

Unmount the card and format it.

Then when complete, mount the card.

Plug the phone in, Select disk drive in notification area and copy the contents Inside your SDCARD folder back to the card.
