Root Ota update help, I messed it up

I just got the ota update. I rooted with unrevoked. Went to install the update, it started install and then gave me the triangle with the exclamation point. I hit the power button and it brought up clockworkmod. I chose reboot, now it when I go to system info it says my phone is up to date....... It definitely didn't install 2.2, and it doesn't give me the choice to reinstall. Any ideas?

thats what just happend to me.. i waited for about 40 minutes and it never asked me to update again

i rebooted, did a nand backup. downloaded and installed the RUU.
after i got 2.2 installed i downloaded the recovery update from the unrevoked forevor site and put that on the sd card - used the stock recovery to install the clockworks recovery, then put the new 2.2/froyo root update on. it was a little bit of work but i now have a fresh install 2.2 with root.

i think about 45 minutes after i already had s-off

hopefully someone can find a better solution for you so you dont have to lose your user settings...

I believe the issue you guys have is that you have clockwork recovery. My guess is that the ota update will only work with stock recovery.

Thanks, but I didn't make it to S-off. Just used unrevoked 2.0 I think.

Yeah, I'm starting to believe that most people are failing with the stock recovery IMG rather than running the full blown stock IMG though to ensure out of the box status. Seems like if anything was changed during the root days, the OTA is failing for people.

So what is the easiest way to get froyo on my phone? I can live without root for the time being. I would prefer not to wipe my phone either but would do it if I had to
