Amazon.com: Topram 16GB Class 4 MicroSDHC Card with SD Adapter and R10W Micro USB Flash Card Reader / Writer.: Electronics

i ordered this on sat the 10th, received it today.

first impression -
happy to have a 16g class 4.
packaging was ok, could have been shipped in a bubble mailer.
nothing is damaged.
my machine recognized the new device, win 7 installed drivers.
currently formating to fat32.
it is only 14.8g

i will update later once i get all my music, vids, and apps loaded. overall, it appears as if this is going to be good.

what is the best way to upgrade micro sd? If i get a 16 gig card can i simply copy and past everything from old 8 gig to new 16 gig and will everything be dandy? or is it more complicated? Do i need to save everything and start from scratch?

I am running rooted froyo but i have not moved any apps to the sd

thanks for anyone with any experience with changing sd cards

the 2g class 2 is officially my sd for flashing roms! :D anyone wants their evo flashed, i can do it with just a swap of cards!

hey man, i am sorta in the same boat as you are. i corrupted my 8gb card as well. i thought i was screwed at first, but after a few reboots i plugged it into my computer and windows 7 scaned the card and made repairs (i have no idea why it didn't repair the card the first couple of times i plugged into my computer). i lost some space but was able to get my card working again.

but here is my problem/question. i have 2 8gb cards and a couple of 2gb cards. so when i corrupted my card i thought i could just switch the cards out. but no when i switched the cards i go stuck on the boot screen. actually got stuck with a boot loop. i am on fresh
3.1.0.2 so i just figured that the fresh rom puts something on the sd card to able to boot. but from your post this seems to be not the case.

i don't have a usb card reader, so i am kinda stuck with what i have. no way to access the other cards without my phone booted up.

are you able to install fresh and then just swap cards? or do you use your card reader to move over the fresh removed files or whatever?

yea, i just use my card reader to move over the files. when i purchased this card, it came with a usb thumb drive that the card attaches to. i just copy what i need to it, make the changes/root, boot up make sure everything is kosher, power down, put in my other card. i dont think i have copied anything off the 2g onto my 16g to make it boot.
