Help Handcent SMS keeping phone awake!

Well it looks like I found the culprit of high awake times (via spare parts)... Handcent SMS is above Android System for partial wake usage. Please, if you use Handcent SMS can you also check your awake time, and is there a fix for this? I don't want to have to delete the app, because I love its features.

Interesting. I have been using Handcent since the beginning, and have no issues with high awake time. A couple of things come to mind: Have you updated the Handcent to the latest version? Are you using the back arrow to exit the app when done with it?

I had a similiar situation a couple of months back and it drove me crazy. I did some research and found this, hope it helps you out. Go to handcent, menu, settings, notification settings, and uncheck enable pop ups.
This was keeping my phone's up time and awake time up and on all the time, and drained my battery in less than 6-7 hrs with very little use.
