I had AK Notepad installed on my Incredible and in that I had some important info. Well, had to do a hard reset and realzied that even though I could reinstall the program, it appears that the notes are not saved anywhere and now I am screwed!

To prevent this in the future, is there any way to back up important info that you put into these apps that you get on the Market?

MyBackup - Android app on AppBrain is a popular app that will backup both apps and data. I would assume this would include such things as individual notes in an app like AK Notepad. If I am incorrect someone please speak up.

Hell, no! You don't want a newbie like me "hacking"! That could mean the end of the world as we know it! :)

'taint so bad really...I had my first Android phone all of one week before I rooted it. If you can follow directions you can do it. There's even a one-click root out there somewhere, I believe.

But if you do try it and the space-time continuum gets screwed up, we'll know who to blame! :D

Hmmmm....maybe I will PM you sometime and have you walk me through this. If I am going to mess with the space-time continuum, I will need someone to take the fall with me!;)

I know nothing. Nothing!

You can start here if you wish...but you didn't hear it from me!

[PROGRAM] One Click Root / UnRoot / All Models for (Mac and PC) - xda-developers

read carefully and follow links for more info...and if you don't care to do it after all, hey, that's fine too...no shame in not rooting

Hmmm... I will definitely check out this link you sent me, but I fear messing around with this stuff secretly. My newbie status notwithstanding, the whole idea of messing with my warranty makes me hesitant. Perhaps you have heard of Murphys Law? If something can go wrong, it will and it usually happens to CatB? (ok, i may have added that last part...not sure that was part of the original law), but it doesn't make it any less true! :D
