EDIT: If you do manage to download this game to your phone, be advised that it's 13MB. Make sure you have some space or it won't download at all.

This is what I did

1. Download Fast Web Installer from the Market
2. Run the Fast Web Installer
3. Reboot phone.
4. Went to Appbrain app within phone and synced apps once rebooted.
5. Clicked home, NOT back, and went to Fast Web Installer app. Enabled it, then clicked HOME, NOT back.
6. Go to this link to download Angry Birds Angry Birds Lite Beta - Android app on AppBrain
7. On your PC, go to the Appbrain web site, and click on "My Apps" at the top left corner by the search bar.
8. I clicked on "cancel install" on angry birds lite app, then clicked install again.
9. Downloaded PERFECTLY on my Hero!

I was looking at the video of the game on other android phones and mine doesn't look anywhere as near as good as that. The text doesn't quite fit the screen and the buttons on the menu page are kind of jumbled together. Anyone else with this problem?

Is angry birds coming to 1.6 devices such as the htc magic with google from vodafone uk?

i checked on the market and its not avaliable but i do have it running on my phone from an .apk from Download free Android Apps, Games, Themes there is a few visual problems such as a few things missing on the levels but all breakable objects are still in there and the game is zoomed and all buttons are still usable just overlapping.

Since its working on my phone (the crippled 32b model) couldnt rovio adjust the game slightly?

@yossarian i think im having the same problem its also running slightly slow buttons are jumbled and there is a few other minor issues

Well,

Since it did not show up in the market i went and found the apk. I installed it and played all the available levels. However the whole screen in the menus etc is all squished, like the game was not in the market for a reason because our screen resolution is incorrect?

Anyone else have this or is there perhaps a differen apk for different resolution phones?

It doesn't surprise me much that it looks jumbled in the menu and whatnot... the dude who ported it was using a droid. Much larger screen resolution. How smooth does it run for ya'll? It's like butter here.

Tried your method to the "T" and nothing. Even went so far as to uninstall the fast web installer (which I already had), and reinstall per your instructions. It still says item cannot be found. Any other suggestions? On a brighter note, I was finally able to find and install Hungry Shark!

Angry Birds was one of the reasons that i rooted and updated my Hero to 2.1 yesterday... followed the steps above and get the same thing as Beezlette..

No, likely weeks away. The beta is still being heavily tested and has bugs remaining. Once the bugs are mostly fixed, a release date will probably be announced.

Followed the instructions, and managed to get beta 2 onto my HTC Legend.
Unfortunately, all I get is the splash screen for a couple seconds, then it goes back to my home screen..
