If Droid X CAN have these things, I will buy it

I've been frustrated all week, trying to decide whether to get the Droid X or HTC Droid Incredible... There's two HTC features I want on the Droid X. I've been searching online, but I can't find if there's anything very similar or not...

1. The HTC Sense multicolor photographic blur live wallpaper... I just adore it.
2. The weather animation/widget that shows what the weather is outside when you unlock the phone. I just think it's really sweet!

If the Droid X can have similar things, then I'm sold. Please tell me there is a similar live wallpaper and an awesome weather app like the one on the HTC Incredible!

2. I believe you can skin WidgetLocker to look almost identical to the sense weather on the unlock screen. Might want to take a look at WidgetLocker and decide for yourself.

2. I used to have an Imagio with Sense and after researching like a madman it's clear that almost anything you can dream up is available for the Android OS, including replicas of other phone styles, etc.

Is it the live version? I haven't looked on this forum but some searching brought a good point, Motorola uses 480x845 and HTC uses 480x800, so a live wallpaper would have to be edited to fit the larger size, which is more difficult than edited just a static image wallpaper.

1) I believe you can d/l it from the XDA site (I don't like it though, personally)
2) Because I'm a big sense fan, I do already have my phone looking totally like sense and better using Beautiful Widgets, Launcher Pro Professional and Widgetlocker. I have the sense lockscreen and the sense time/weather.

Thanks for the info... I searched XDA and could only find this version: Bokeh Rainbow live wallpaper Android application - AppStoreHQ To me, it's nothing like the HTC Sense live wallpaper. It's like a very bad knock off. If anyone could help me find a very similar version or the same version as the HTC Sense, then I will be EXTREMELY thankful. I would really like to order the Droid X tonight, but these last things are kind of holding me up.

Get the Incredible. The DX gets close to the HTC functions you're looking for but they are not the same. Since they are important to you, the first time you see them function on an Incredible after you get a DX, you'll probably be disappointed.

The Incredible is a great phone from what I hear. You can't lose either way.

Weather and toggle widget has a clone of the htc sense clock/weather widget called h7c.
the wallpaper can be had from any incredible forum. So you should get the dX

I agree.

Weather & Toggle is more Sense-like than the other apps. You have to download the h7c clock and h7c weather skins from inside the app. None of the other apps I've tried has the wiper blade on rainy days. Beautiful Weather is nice too.

Launcher Pro Plus will get rid of the Moto Blur crap too, while still allowing widgets to resize.

In the long run you'll appreciate the longer battery life and bigger screen of the X.

1. Not sure what Live Wallpaper you are referring to but There are 100's out to choose from. And really do you want to decide on a phone based on a wallpaper?

2. Yes there is one so close to it HTC asked the developer to stop selling it. You can still find it in the Market (its hard to find though as it's kind of hidden and you need a direct like to it.) or you can use his new ones. He makes the Beautiful line of widgets. He also has a live wallpaper that is for weather.

I know these things are kind of cool and all but if you can't tell the weather outside without seeing it raining on your phone screen you have issues

You may want to look into more important things like Battery, Call quality etc etc

Go with the best hardware (X), and updating the software becomes an adventure.

This stuff is just eye candy, if that is the most important thing in a phone to you then Go HTC . There eye candy is right up there and the interface is diffidently snapper than the DX *(I've had both and wish my DX was as snappy). On the other hand the X is better in Call quality, Call reception, battery life, build quality, Screen size (size does matter) etc etc. And you should be able to find something that is just as prutty as anything HTC has in the market.

So the question you should be asking yourself IMO is which is a better phone not which one has the prettiest widgets.

From personal experence They are both great phones and the Dinc is snappier and responsive than th X but the X his better in the department that should count.

Weather&Toggle+h7c Weather/Clock skin is much closer to the original Sense than Beautiful Weather (clock/weather icon placement is different and size is different).

There is also a freeware called Fancy Widget which is about the same minus the animation.

Sure is. Can't remember if it's in the "Add On" settings or the regular settings. But is there. Something about disable unlock animation...

Well You said if it had them you would buy so it seems to be the deciding factor from reading the title.

Anyway once you start customizing these things you'll probably forget all about the two items you're asking about anyways. So go with the hardware that suits you best not the wall paper.
