A tad bit Pissed but I hope something can Change about this Skype Sprint VZN Crap

At the Current time one of the places that you can DL the App for Skype Mobile for Sprint is from - My Market - in the app Store, but the one issue with this is that you have to make sure that you start your phone and in the event that you find an app that you want go make sure that you go to Permissions selecting the Install Button will do nothing. Ok so now you can select the VZ network and their app store and you can do a search for Skype Mobile - it is there but only issue is once you install it you cannot do anymore due to the fact you are not in a VZ phone. But there has been some work out there to spoof the phone but none of these have shown any sucess. You can also download the Skype.apk and install that but that is up to you... I am really Bummed about not having Skype more so since I have a front cam. Qik is good but Skype already has laid the ground work and has the users.

Damn you Skype and Sprint Shame on you.. Why didnt you outbid... I hope that some day I will be able to update this Comment and it will say I have a solution.. But untill then the search will continue..

Nascar Fans like the App and VZ users like the nascar app and there is a modded version why cant we figure out a way to do the same with the Skype app on Sprint..

I agree, but part of the reason why VZ bills are so high is because they throw outragous amounts of money to have "exclusive" rights to things...See NFL mobile where VZ paid 700 million dollars for exclusive rights..which is why VZ customers have to pay $10 a mo for access.

So while it does suck, and I do hope we get a good video call app...Ill keep the lower bill and let VZ keep their exclusives.

Well I dont forsee VZN handing over their skype contract this coming year. I have heard that they have already planned the Application to be used on 21-23 phones and Pads ( IPADS ) and they are going to include the phones to use their Fios system as well.

They are also planning the use of the Fios System on the Ipad which will is just a step towards them locking in Skype for antoher year atleast till 2012 from what I gather.

I heard from the grape vine aswell that the Ipad V2 will be out on the VZN in Q2 2011

Verizon is stepping away from their land line units and looking into Wireless and Fios and they are banking on the Skype App to build their empire and bring families together and increase their market share over those that use the program to talk to troops as well as the ability to use the application to talk to multiple people, I think that 5 chats at once, was one of the numbers which will appeal to the Business Market.

I just wonder how much of the market share Skype will lose if they continue to maintain complete exclusivity with VZN and refrain from other Providers using the software. I also feel that the retraints that are being placed on the other Cell Phone Providers will only mean that a greater company will come out of the wood work. It is the Sleeping Giants they have to worry about. The companies that will learn from the mistakes that others have made. Google is a strong player in the V2V arena and I can only imagine that Cisco will be jumping out of the wood work. Lets just hope that it is Google..

So I just hope that Sprint gets their crap together and works with Google to increase their Google TV and Google Chat applications on their new Units. Sprint Needs to Jump on the GTV band wagon.. Ok getting tired and starting to jump around have a great day everyone and what do you think...
