I updated my phone to the 2.2 through a link i found on a thread here. There was no disclaimer on the link saying this will void my warranty, so i went ahead with it. No that I am doing more research, it seems the I might have voided my warranty due to my impatience :/

Can anyone confirm or deny this? If it DOES void my warranty, how does verizon know that I did a downloaded update rather than an OTA update.

did you use the OFFICIAL OTA update? if you did you r fine, that wont void your warranty.

I'm pretty sure I did use the official one.

just undownload it if your that worried but yes rooting does void your warranty but if you unroot they will have no idea that you ever rooted

I'm not sure how to un download an update, i already stored it on the SD card, and updated the phone with it.

Depends on what method you use. If you used RUU or update.zip you should be fine. Other methods, you're probably SOL.
