What is your Epic's build date & what issues you have with it?

From a discussion in android central forums, it is looking like there could be possible link between the build date of the device and certain issues it has. While some issues are present across all build dates, certain issues seem to be more prominent in devices made in July rather than August. This is purely speculation at this point on my part and I just want to clarify if it is really a case or not. So can you please share your device's and its battery's build dates and if your device has any kind of issues, or no issues at all. The build date information can be found on battery and under the battery. Please keep your post short and just share your dates and short description of the issues, if any, to keep the thread easier to scan.

My Build Date is 8/10, and I have no known defects. So far everything has worked beautifully. I have even experienced terrific battery life! I'm not sure if it's just because I used to have an EVO that was absolutely the worst performing battery life device I've ever used, or if it is actually that good! But, it has been great.

EDIT: Battery has a date stamp of August as well.

Battery 8/2010
Phone 8/2010

Bottom row keys unresponsive, but tried battery removal fix for 3 min. and they seem to work fine now.

GPS is only reporting 30 meter accuracy, but in practice it seems right on.

Battery drains way too fast. Currently trying suggested fix, of placing phone in airplane mode than turning airplane mode off. Seems to have lowered my time without signal under battery use. This should help battery life, I'll see.

One of these threads exists in every Samsung Galaxy S forum, from the Captivate, to Vibrant, and now Epic.

Please realize many all these phones are essentially the same. They use the same screens, some batteries, and many of the other same components. The Samsung Galaxy S was released months ago in Europe and other parts of the world.

Chances are some components that are common to all the devices are mass produced and are sitting in warehouses waiting to be assembled into various units...i.e vibrant or epic.

Also realize the battery, is basically the same battery in all the phones. So the same factory that popped out the european galaxy s, is propably popping out your epic battery.

Chances are the date of your phone gives you no tangible information at this time, until a true hardware revision is made. At this time there are NO hardware revisions. Meaning the person who baught an epic dated two weeks ago, is the exact same phone as one dated today, unless there is a specific hardware revision set.

So looking at dates and trying to get the latest date is pointless. Plus who says a phone made today is better than one made last week? Maybe the little korean man was drunk today and attached your screen backwards.

I hope my point made sense to somebody.

I guarantee most of the parts in your phone have been produced months ago, also remember 3rd parties make lots of the parts, and those parts are probably made even months further back, and were delivered to samsung, sitting in a box, waiting to be assembled.

Yes, it is true. Parts may be the same, but still assembly may differ. I remember when pre was released then first batch of phones had lot of hardware issues like oreo effect and all, and subsequent batches were of better quality however. Similarly, when I said we can get somewhere based on the build dates, I was just not meaning certain gps or phone radio performance, I was also meaning build quality, screen wobbling, and many different issues for which people had to swap out the phone. It started when couple of people over at android central forums mentioned that their third or second epic after swapping out was of superior build and did not have the issues they were facing before, and when I asked them the date, all had date of august as build date. Like I said in my first post in the thread, this is pure speculation. Remember, even though the internals of the phone may be same, Epic does have different hardware, therefore it can have assembly issues that were not present in previous GS phones. So even if hardware parts are the same, it may have different method of assembly to accommodate extra hardware, which may introduce some Epic-specific issues.
