This is for the DROID 2 ONLY! Do not flash on your DROID 1 please. I will not help you if you attempt this rom on a DROID 1 and will laugh at you.
For all those having a problem install I have updated the update.zip file. Try it out :)

Things in the rom:
Removed bloatware(Stupid Verizon!)
Added scripts
Many build.prop mods
This rom is fully Deodexed thanks to bizzshow. Thanks :D

Themse will be ported. The stock theme comes first!

Still has Motoblur, just took my system folder and edited it a lot. This is the first booted build so please report bugs as you find them to my GTalk matt4542@gmail.com

Thanks to birdman for helping me fix my DROID 2 when I screwed up the system.

The known bug is that the backlight wont turn off when you locked the device, the screen is on but black. Please do not report this bug I will fix it in the next release. This release is buggy and is not for normal use.

Btw I don't have a DROID 1 anymore. DROID 2 now. Will try to keep up D1 development.

I have worked my ass off for this rom so just say thanks!

This has the DROID 1 boot animation for a "retro" feel lol.

READ IMPORTANT!
To install need root and koush's bootstrap app. You will need to make a FULL nandroid backup before doing this because if you screw up your system you can restore. After that go into install zip and toggle the zip authentication check off(or whatever it is) because I wanted this release out so quick I didn't sign the package. DO NOT INSTALL VIA ROM MANAGER!
READ IMPORTANT!

Why the hell have you read all this? Just download it!!

HERE IS YOUR DOWNLOAD!!! Don't you just love me for making you read all that?

I'm impressed...I assume we were a few weeks away from this. Congratulations on getting the ROM derby going for the D2!!

I'm not rooted yet (D2 only two days old, and I'm gonna wait a few more to ensure I've tried everything and know it all works well on stock) but as soon as I root (likely a couple more days) I will be all over this.

Thanks - this is really great to see this getting started!

O........M..............G!!!!!!!!!! WHAT!?

Why had I not heard the D2 was finally rooted!?!?

Geez, freaking finally... I've been coming here since the day I got it on August 12th and had no clue, AND a custom rom!? Where have I been???

Q: Is this stable, and will there be other ROMS be coming out now? I can't wait to get WIFI Tethering working!!

Been rooted for a little while now :p. It is stable but there is a decent amount of bugs.

Found 2 new bugs in 5 min alt keys on keyboard mid mapped and contacts not working from home icon... but can be accesed from phone and text messaging.
On another note mind if I try a little debugging and would you mind at all if I built onto your rom/mod
All in all great job though

Try all you want. I gonna release a bugged fixed version soon.

AHHHH, I'm glad some of these bad reports are surfacing. I'm not going to cripple my crippled (sorry, I'm not a fan after a month of use) Droid 2 with a faulty Custom Rom. Where is a good resource for custom roms as they are released, sort of like a XDA but for Android?

First off it isn't "faulty" there are just bugs. A good place to check would be xda Droid Forums and places like that. I am releasing a version with but fixes most likely today.

Your perspective is off-base...Matt's release is a 1.0, and he properly acknowledged its current state in his post to warn any and all users who wanted to try it:

They aren't "bad reports" - they're "bug reports." The ROM isn't "faulty," it's new and as Matt has warned us, likely has more and more severe bugs than a stable release. That's normal.

ROM developers do a lot of nice things for us mere mortals who don't have the background/skills/time/initiative/whatever to do so ourselves, much of it free, and it's disappointing to see people casting disparaging comments at their work.

If you don't want to help out with early debugging on a new ROM, go ahead and wait, but take a minute to thank the developers who are building the D2 ROMs for us.
