Hey folks,

Many thanks to the unrevoked team for all the help they have done to move this community along, and for the toys they have provided us. Please DO NOT give me any credit for these.

Below you will find a link of the radios I am hosting. I take no credit for them, NOR DO I SUPPORT THEM. These are all at your own risk, and are provided without warranty, and any damage that comes from them, is your own fault. Using any of these voids your warranty.

How to install:

1. You need s-off via Unrevoked's tools.
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/forever
2. Once s-off has been obtained, power off phone. Hold DOWN volume and press power. This accesses the hboot screen. The PB31IMG.zip needs to be on the base of your sd card. Hboot will see it and ask to update it. Do NOT battery pull or do this on low battery life.

I'm on radio version 2.15.00.07.28 right now but ever since updating from 2.05 I have had nothing but 3g problems my phone either has no data or 1x never 3g , tried about everything so can I try going to 2.15.00.09.01 or back to 2.05 ??

or do I need to revert to an older radio first ? I want to try all my options of fixing my phone before replacing it

The danger before was when we were using radio patch files. They have no error checking, just overwrite whatever the hell they want. So it only works once.

These are full images. Two of them were built by a member of Unrevoked (2.05 and 2.07). I had their blessing to post this thread.

with s-off you can install any radio no problem.
1.x radios on froyo may cause some video recording problems but will still function.
2.x radios on eclair should be fine.

If you are looking for a list of "new features" or something you will not find one. Radios will affect everyone differently and since this was just posted last night I don't think anyone has had much time to test.

Just install it and see if your reception or data improves.
if not try a different one :)

It sounds like you know your radio stuff. Would you be so gracious as to tell me why different radios affect phones differently? Is there a way to figure it out besides trial and error?

Thankss

Its mainly due to location. Some people might have better luck in their area with one radio while that same radio sucks where you live.

To be honest I haven't seen much difference with any of them but I really don't pay much attention to my reception unless its gone lol. but yes its just trial and error for the most part. i think its probably best to just stick with what you have unless you are having issues.

I have them as well. I just noticed today that you are pretty close to where I work. I've been having reception problems only at work this weekend :( with the exception of today so far. I was use to seeing 1x a lot with 2.1 because where I am located in the building. However, with 2.2 OTA I've completely lost both 3g and 1x at least 3 times already. I have never lost 1x or had to employ Airplane Mode/reboot the Dinc with 2.1 in my office before.

What area of NJ you in? Ive never ever had any service issues. It seems that my service while inside of places has just been destroyed. When im out and about i get 5bars alot of places. I just flashed then ew 2.x radio and it seems to be about the same. =(

And its defiantely the phone, because im holding a blackberry bold and a curve in my hand and I dnt have service issues, neither do the demo phones in my store.

I am recently on 2.15.00.09.01 from 2.15.00.07.28
I am enjoying better call quality, which I do not believe to be a placebo effect, as well as better data transfer which is quite possibly a placebo effect.

I'm definitely experiencing "smoother" reception, if that even makes sense. It's like the connection doesn't jump as much and I can hold a weaker signal for longer. I live way out in the country and hardly get 1-2 bars, it used to jump around a lot on 7.28....no longer an issue with 9.01.

Same here, except I live in a large city and Verizon is just lazy about getting a decent signal in my neighborhood.

I flashed the 9.01 radio and so far I love it. Reception is terrible where I live so small improvements make a huge difference. At first the battery seemed to be draining worse after this radio flash, but after having recharged it now seems to be doing better than ever. If I discover different results I'll holler on the thread but so far this is really cool.
