Help K-9 not getting pop3 email...

I have K-9 set to check mail every min. I see in the notification where it says "sending mail", but it does not check incoming mail. I have tested both the incoming and outgoing ports and they both pass. What do I have to do to get it to check my incoming mail? If I do a manual "check mail", then it receives it fine.

I am using the beta version btw.

strange.

Review your folder's "Class" assignments, and then review the Classes' "Sync" schedules. Also, having it check mail every minute may not provide wide enough window for every cycle to finish properly.

Note from the developers suggest to "not" rely on the Beta version for guaranteed delivery.

Some mail accounts (eg yahoo imap) want to only work from mobile ip addresses. My other accounts work fine with wifi. For yahoo, I need to be on 3G although that seems to have had some problems over the last few days.

It appears as though K-9 does not work with wifi enabled...once I turned wifi off, everything worked just fine. Anyone else find this to be true or is this old news and I'm behind the times??

Thanks for the response btw.

Alan

Is there anyone using the regular K-9 (non beta) that actually has this working with free Hotmail? i.e NOT the $20 a year service. On my droid, it is as bad as the regular email app. It only shows one folder (inbox) and emails read on the PC still show up as new and unread on the droid when K-9 checks every hour.

Kinda confused by your reply but i think my classes are fine. I have it set to check and sync all classes and still only the inbox and trash are displayed. I even experimented and set it up with 1st class folders. No go. The folder i really want to see is my junk folder as this is where the majority of my emails go.

- You must make sure a folder is assigned to a "Class".

- You must make sure that "Class" is being "Synched".

- You then must make sure that class is "Viewable".

- Only when there is activity in the "Junk" folder, on the phone and online, will K-9 make it visible on the phone.

- If you still have trouble, email the developers.

I have a regular Hotmail account. If I delete an email from either the desktop or the Droid, the change is reflected on the other device after I check mail again. (I do not have automatic updates enabled for my Hotmail account.)

My account settings are as follows:
username = username@hotmail.com
Password = password
POP3 server = pop3.live.com
Security type = SSL (if available)
Port = 995

I have not had any problems with it.

As for folders not showing up, I think because its POP3 you cannot see and move to the other folders. I don't think Hotmail has imap which would allow moving to different folders.

Did you use the Auto or Manual setup? I used the Auto and had no issues.

All done but still not working for me. The junk mail folder is just not visible even when new mail hits it.

So are you able to see your junk mail folder? Also if you read an email on your PC does the droid show it as new and unread next time it syncs?

I recently installed K9 on my Galaxy S and it's not showing any emails. It only displays "Load up to 25 more". It seems to be sending and receiving but no messages show up. Does anyone know what's going on here? Thanks for the help in advance!

Update: I appear to be receiving new emails but when it reloads, messages already read on my desktop drop out on my k9 mail.
