Wife or girlfriend unhappy about your EVO purchase?

I've had the EVO since early June and my gf has hated on, and been jealous of my EVO since day one! It got so bad that I would literally wait for her to go to bed so that I could enjoy my EVO in peace (smh). I just bought her an EVO last week and I haven't heard a peep out of her since! Once she experienced Google Voice Search, Google Calendar (along with the "HTC Agenda" widget), and the 8MP camera, it was a wrap! After fiddling with her EVO for a few hours, she was like, "I get it now!"

Hate to say it, but the best way to resolve the dreaded "EVO argument" (which you CANNOT win) is to go ahead and buy an EVO for your partner. Honestly, it's the best $200 I ever spent...

I'm I the only person here that has experienced a argument about your phone? My wife is wishing I never bought the phone because I'm always on it. This phone is so addicting!

I have WAY more fun with my wife than I do with my cell-phone. It's a wonderful thing, actually.

You're telling me that a cell-phone became a point of divide between you and your girlfriend? *sigh*

The best way to resolve the issue is to be a bit more personable when around your significant other. Not a single "EVO argument" with my wife (she has a Hero) since I bought mine. Are you two the type that will text/IM each other from across the living room?

my wife has always complained about me being on my phones. once we got her a hero it all stopped. now shes on her hero more then im on my evo, example, yesterday we were out all day. my evo was still at 87% when we got home. her hero was at 30% lol both started full in the morning(this is with her having her hero since march)

edit: this doesnt keep us from having fun with each other tho ;)

Dividing point? Not at all! Perhaps my choice of words (EVO argument) was a bit hyperbolic, and unlike your wife who has a Hero, my gf had an old Blackberry, so she had no point of reference regarding my EVO usage. And no, we do not text each other from across the room. We actually interact with each other personally when we happen to find ourselves in the same room...

All I was trying to convey humorously -- although it appears I missed the mark -- is that my significant other didn't understand why I "love" my EVO, until she got one herself. Thanks for the relationship advice though!

I constantly hear this phrase: "Pay attention to ME!!!"

Thats what I used to get, too! I remember my GF's upgrade was due the same time as the EVO launch and mine was due to following month. Everytime shed come over I would say, "Can I check out your phone?" I'd be on it all night. She got very frustrated at times. lol Luckily (for her) Sprint let me upgrade 2 weeks early and she didnt have to put up with that for the whole month.
