Htc Desire Battery

I've recently uninstalled my task killer after reading Lekky's post, I also only have GSM enabled and I have NoBars installed (great app for me). I can't say that I've used the Desire that much today, but my battery life 'appears' to be improving (or maybe the novelty has worn off). :p

Edit: Oops, forgot to mention that I have 50% battery left.

Turn on flight mode and you'll see call standby drop over time, and that's when battery starts to drop at a slower rate. I tested it a bit last week. My call standby was over 60% at one point and was actually losing a chunk every hour, I went from 100% to 66% in 2 hours.

I live in a weak signal area, my Blackberry suffers alot from it and I have to charge my BB twice a day because of it.

not sure...

well, its now tuesday morning for me, and my battery still at 45%.
dun ask me why, but it just went like that after i updated to android 2.2

only difference is i no longer use its own adapter to charge my htc..
i use this Mpower battery pack to charge it.
but as someone in some thread mentioned, it all depends on a user's usage of the phone.

and I suppose my usage is below average compared to other smartphone users..
but still its an estimated of 4 days already for my phone (since friday night when i charged it to 100%)

not gloating or anything here. Just stating how my battery is for me now on android 2.2

note :- i turn off GPS, bluetooth and wifi, only enabling wifi at night for roughly less than an hour of random game and app searching.. during the day, a phonecall or two, normally, less than 10 phonecalls, and lots of text messaging.. thats my usage chart..

p.s.s :-- looking at shookster post, i went and check out battery use..
it is as follows, cell standby = 46% Phone idle = 47% Android System = 5% ans display = 2%, and thats it..

4d 12h 24m 40s @ 20% battery remaining

Your previous posts pointed to a battery drop off rate of between 0.59% per hour and 0.69% per hour. Yet the difference between 33% and 20% indicates a drop off rate of 1.18% per hour. You been using it between 33% and 20%?

Either way, if you're not using your phone and then post these claims it just encourages people to wonder why they're not getting similar battery performance. I may get similar if I put mine in a drawer but I've never tested it. But tbh honest I still don't think I'd beat your claims. Enjoy.

Well, cell phone use is not based on statistics is it. Maybe I was just using the phone more between the 33% and 20% drop rate like your "calculations" say. Maybe I was surfing the net, sent a few texts, made a phone call. That's not something you can spread over an average you see.

I followed another thread about battery calibration.. this is what I found:

100% at 7:50am today

I've received 2 calls,

@ 14:50 battery level is 98% (4128mV)
Time since boot 7:02:25

@ 16:39 battery level is 97% (4138mV)
Time since boot 8:50:23

That seems pretty good to me ! I'm sure you'll tell me if it isn't :)

Unusual, is this on stock? There's a couple custom roms out there that inaccurately show battery life.

I have unbranded HTC Sense Froyo 2.2, using LauncherPro.
On average, I can easily get through the day with moderate to heavy usage (gaming), but a few days ago I decided not to play games that much so this are the results:

I managed to get 48 hours - it included about
- 50 text messages
- 1 hour of talk time
- 2 hours of web browsing
- 40-50 minutes of Angry Birds and Meteor Blitz games

PS
Playing games alone drained about 20-25% percent of battery

I too dont think VinnyChase (Entourage fan by any chance?) is fabricating anything either :) My GF got 6days out of her Desire last week, obviously NOT using it much but still, not too shabby!

I regularly get around 3days of medium usage between charges.

Also, dont get too stuck up about the phone usage stats! Some people live by stats but in the end they are simply numbers that can be made to mean anything!

Maybe a poll about real time battery usage will give a more realistic representation of battery life!

However, IF someone posts up about getting decent battery life I see NO reason they would be making it up! I certainly wouldnt harrass them to prove it :( That to me is just daft

like an earlier poster said, when people post such stats as this, it makes other users wonder whether there is something wrong with their battery? No matter how little I use my phone, I dont think I have ever gotten more than 30 hours....and the time I got 30 hours was when I hardly used mobile internet ie I turned if off manually myself. People that have batteries this good, can you tell me what apps you have installed, what settings you have, and your actual typical usage. Looking at some of the screen shots, with phone idle and cell standby being pretty much 48% or so, does that mean you literally dont use your phone the whole time? Do you have anything syncing at all? These claims (and I'm not doubting them at all) really intrigue me.

I want battery that good!!!

Screenshot/pic for proof?

Ha seriously?

For anyone claiming battery life over 2 days do you have background data disabled? Do you have anything syncing on your phone at all? The only way I can see the phone lasting over 2 days is to turn every useful feature of the phone off. It's nice to have the opportunity to do this but personally I've got Exchange, Google and weather auto syncing, a few sense widgets doing their thing and an animated wallpaper...I'm happy with charging it every night.

If you made calls it would say voice call..

I've attached a pic of my battery usage. I usually surf the net on the phone everyday.. but this day I didn't...

I made 2-3 short calls.. sent about 20 texts. Downloaded and played a dominos game for about 15 minutes... The rest of the phone use was just checking time, screen on / off... I was home most of the day with wifi on.. but phone not in use. Then was out of the house for about 6 hours in the evening.

I went to bed and put the phone into airplane mode and it only lost 1% while I was alsleep.

My stats:

There is no way you used you phone in the way you said. As I surf the internet on the phone for an hour and the battery drops like mad.

You don't understand the percentages. Cell standy and phone idle took up almost 96 % or something and then the Android system itself. Because of the span of 5 days the phone call percentage is not shown because it is MARGINAL. Please understand this. It always adds up to 100 % That's how percentages work.

I'm sure I'm feeding a troll but just on the off chance...

Your earlier screenshot showed no battery usage for voice calls or display yet your post said you'd been making calls and browsing the net? Are you claiming that it's so negligible it's not registering?! Now it may be possible to get that kind of up time that your claiming you're getting but you'll need to have every sync option off and you certainly haven't been making calls or browsing the net.

I'm not a troll dude. My sync was on manual; I did a few manual syncs. And maybe 1 hour wifi. That's why I claim the percentage could be marginal. I'm not making this up to fool people.
