Help RyanZA's One-click lag fix reassurance

Hi all,
just wanted to comfort anyone who might be in any doubt about using the one click lag fix available on the android market. I've been 'um-ing' and 'ah-'ing' about the ease and safety of using the app for a couple of weeks now but finally made the leap today. All I can say is it's so easy to do if you follow the simple instructions. The most difficult bit is just holding down the volume up, power and menu switch simultaneously. Other than that the thing worked like a charm and I'm now getting good Quadrant scores (2100) and apps are zinging along nicely.

Reading about the install seems to make it sound a bit vague and complicated but using the app is a doddle.

I'm a gumby with this stuff, and was in the same boat. I got stuck because I couldn't find the 'which buttons to press' instructions, but once found it was as easy as.

Maybe this is a n00bish question but I applied the NAND fix a while back.

1. Is this very different?
2. Is it better?
3. Should I use this instead?

well, make sure you can do the 3 button root first ... if possible. This is one of the steps that you will be asked to do. Some newer models seem to NOT have this capability. Though there is a way to circumvent this, it seems a bit more techy

Well I installed this today - a few changes such as:

to get into recovery mode, I had to do volume up, home key and then power - release power once the Galaxy logo appeared.

I didn't get the reinstall option, I got - apply sdcard:update.zip which i selected

then everything else worked as per the link above.

I was very nervous, but now i know what to do you could do it in 10 mins max.

I just saw the OCLF in Market. My phone is already rooted(one click root method). Do I need unroot my phone and then install the OCLF?

does the app say you are rooted or not? you should not have to unroot, but you should probably skip the rooting instruction.

I did the install today. I don't know it was an app but yeah I just skipped the rooting and it worked fine.

Hi all, new to the forum.

Did this fix today and it has made a huge difference.

Went from a score of 866 to 2317!

Phone is much faster and don't get any force closes anymore.

It only offers me the following:

Reboot System Now
Reinstall Packages
Delete All User Data
Delete Cache Data

Any ideas on what to do next?

Select the Reinstall Packages.

If you look at the link Dr Gonzo posted it specifies the Reinstall option - Number 11
