I've been playing outer empires for a while now on the ipod touch and have yet to match it by anything available on android in my opinion.

Take a look at Outer Empires - an iPhone/iPod Touch and Desktop Browser Game

you can play it on a desktop computer or on an iphone or ipod touch. If you like it and enough of us show interest in an android version the devs. Might decide to expand!

Outer empires is a mmo based in space, its set in a massive galaxy which is only about a 1/15th colonized! its a good graphical game where you actually fly your ship in a 3rd person view rather than clicking on numbers etc.

If you've ever played eve online then you wouldn't be far off with this game. You can subscribe at a cost (several terms available, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year). BUT! You don't have to subscribe!you can just play for free if you like. Subscribers get extra credits and xp points (currency and experience points) aswell as being able to colonise more than one planet or moon.

This is a massive game that I probably havnt done justice, take a look at the website above and check out the screen shots for in game graphics etc!

Kinda wish I got an iphone instead of my galaxy s because of this game...

We need this on android!

What are you talking about?

The only thing im envious of at times is the screen quality. Everything else is less than par, compared to my DInc

It teams of performance iPhone 4 is ahead of everything but the Galaxy S, unless there’s another phone with PowerVR SGX535 or better and 1GHz ARM CPU I don't know about.

Even Droid X still uses SGX530, snapdragon based devices are definitely NOT on par with iPhone 4 and if you think they are then you are deluded.

Lol, he's right, unfortunately. your DInc still uses that crappy snapdragon processor with a worse GPU than the iPhone 3GS :p Probably even worse than the iPhone 3G, but Im not CERTAIN how poweful the PowerVR MBX Lite is.

The iPhones have always had decent GPUs... which is why their games are decently backwards compatible. Most of our phones can't handle graphically intense games. Only a select few of the new ones can (Droid X\2, Galaxy S).

I dont know a single thing of any of those numbers and models yall are mentioning lol.

All i know is i have an iPhone, this DInc, and an X

The DInc definitely feels way snappier than any other.

Granted the iphone has some high-end games and the Android market does not so i cannot really test that ...

ahh screw it, i guess you win lol.

This doesn't stop the dev's working on a less graphically intense version of the game. They could release something for Android but right now i'm all about the Angry Bird haha.

Exactly, the result from porting games designed for faster devices to slower devices will be games that run slower, (lower framerate) or games that are visually less impressive, e.g less visual effects, less detail, lower resolution textures etc.

Unless there’s a specific hardware feature lacking which the game engine depends on or the game was fairly simpistic to start with like Angry Birds.

I have a Dinc and an X. 2.2 Dinc ran every game I threw at it smoothly. Asphalt, Nova, etc. In fact, some games it runs smoother than the X, although I believe that is because the stock launcher running behind ADW screws something up with the games. So whatever the Dinc is sporting under the hood wasn't holding it back in those games.

That does look pretty awesome actually, but what can you do... Android is still years behind the iPhone when it comes to gaming and the only phone that matches or surpasses the iPhone 4 in terms of hardware is the Galaxy S.

I have a galaxy s and i agree it surpasses the iphone 4 in just about every way, the only thing that the iphone has going for it at the moment is the apps that are available. But i'm sure in time android will catch up.
