the browser does not show cool animation when the phone is rotated. the visible pixels are really annoying when you try to read something from two inches away. there is no itunes integration. there is no "end call" touch sensor on the side of the phone. the pron is corrupting souls. you can't get expensive accessories. your hip glass sandwich sporting friends look down on you.

How is that helpful?

I feel the pain of the OP. I have to have a device that is 100% functional and I was struggling with that with several Captivates. I went through five total.

1.) multiple dead pixels
2.) Internal Wifi antenna broken
3.) Capacitive touch buttons kept repeatedly pushing themselves
4.) Phone randomly shutting off
5.) blown ear speaker

That's just the BS I've dealt with so far. Top that off with a disfunctional GPS and a bunk file system that required a community patch to make reasonable.

I'm back on my i4 right now, but it's not much better. Granted, several apps work a bit better, and I have my easy to manage iPod back, but we're currently dealing with proximity sensor problems that look to be hardware related.

I really love the idea of the Captivate, but I've just had the worst luck in frikkin history with this thing. I've decided to take advantage of the ridiculous resale of the iphone 4 and just use it until I see what Samsung comes up with. I can't imaging they'd screw up something this close to greatness, but we'll see.

Sounds like you've done your research. I don't know how many of those are flaws and not differences when compared to the iPhone 4, but I guess that depends on your point of view. I too don't like how there's not high quality accessories, but I'd be fine if they weren't expensive. The whole hip thing sounds like a flaw in friends and is not Captivate related. Anyway, enjoy your iPhone!

It is not about feeling better, it is about informing others that might stumble upon this forum. They need to be made aware of the risk they run buying
a Captivate.

You don't hear me complaining that you like your phone. Are you suggesting that this forum only contain positive post about a phone?

If you are so sure that the Captivate is wonderful why get all bent at those of us railing against it? Why so defensive?

PS: Thanks for thinking of me as a young whippersnapper. At 49 years of age it feels good to be thought of that way.
