New 2.1 ROM and rooting?

Here is the HBoot and Radio version from a recently updated Magic. It looks like the Hboot (SPL) hasn't changed since the E911 update but the radio version has changed.

I wouldn't bet my first born on it or anything, but since the SPL version has remained the same it looks like either rooting method that we have been using should still work.

E911 SPL 1.76.0010 --- 2.1 SPL 1.76.0010
E911 Radio 6.35.10.18 --- 2.1 Radio 6.35.16.19

I dare say the radio was updated to fix some of the issues that occurred with the E911 update.

I wonder if there's any advantage to this new 6.35 series radio over the 3.22 Dream radio we're currently using in our rooted magics? I see that someone on XDA has created a kernel that works with the 6.35 radio but the camera doesn't work.

i've been finding the 3.22 dream radio kinda crummy...
i lose two bars when i touch my phone. haha
and i don't know if it's a radio issue, but i keep getting 'text message not sent' errors, but the messages are indeed sending, as i get responses from people...

99% sure its related to the dreams 3.22 radio... my fiancee's dream does the same thing regularly. Theres another tread about this problem active right now. That radio is garbage. Hopefully CM will get moved to a diffrent radio soon (maybe the one from the new rogers 2.1?)

So has anybody rooted using Universal Androot? I had rooted my Dream, but never bothered rooting my Magic after the exchange program. I want to root for the sole purpose of using theether for root users.

So has anybody rooted the 2.1 ROM with Universal Androot yet?
