Absolutely LOVING 1.6 with the Smoked Glass.

However, didn't get the Smoked Glass wallpapers when I applied the theme over the stock ROM.

Can anyone pull this for me and post so I can DL it? I don't like the water drop thing for the Smoke Glass look.

Thanks!

for those looking to update system installed apps, use titanium backup to uninstall app in question. reboot. then install from market. i just did it for the updated Google Search.

I am having a difficult time trying to get my home screen to look like it does when you first install the Blueberry Theme...the icons for the App Drawer, SMS, Browser, Contacts and Phone are all blue!

Now that I have purchased Launcher Pro Plus a new version v0.7.7.3 was just released and the icons I mentioned above are grey now after I updated LPPlus...how in the heck can I get these to be blue again?? Its driving me to the brink of.....well i'll leave it at that! Anybody have any input on this please???

I even tried to reinstall the Blueberry Theme again after the update for LPPlus and no luck....help!!

Thanks in advance

Hey all...If I understand this helpful post here at the top by gotwilk correctly then his instruction should fix the problem I am having with LauncherPro Plus' updated version and the home screen default icons as described in my post from yesterday directly above this message correct??? PLEASE HELP!

I apologize for my lack of knowledge but it will only last a short little bit and I'm really hoping all you knowledgeable members can help me get through this tough time...hey I dont even know how to take a few quotes on here and link it all together the right way and ask a question all in one post so any any any help would be so appreciated!!!

I also have the question a few post above regarding GDE and LFY's ROMs that I am still searching for an answer on while patiently waiting for an answer on here as well...

Or even if im doing/saying/asking things in an unpopular way please let me know...my apologies!!

Edit: Guess I can take multiple post and link them together after all...that was pure luck, im just not that familiar with things but im eagerly trying to accomplish this! Lol

no i mean using the side bar on the side of the phone to toggle volume up and down

That's just Froyo...

I think people were inadvertently putting their phones on silent vs. vibrate with the old style "3-way ring, vibrate, and silent" rocker switch operation.

Google changed it in all the 2.2 builds...this is not unique to this ROM.

That option was purposely removed from 2.2. Many, including myself, wonder why. Do a search in the general forum and I'm sure you will find many threads on the topic.

My solution, download the Ringer Mode Bar Widget from the market.
Add the widget to the desktop and you have a simple toggle between sound, vibrate and silent.

I just noticed your donation button over the weekend and my first thought was "I wonder how many people are actually donating"..
I am negative in the bank until friday morning but had already planned on sending some coin your way. You put entirely to much time and effort toward your themes and roms to be sharing and not be rewarded. 75% of the post here are from noobs (like me) turning to the Darkside and under estimating the powers. Out of those 75% only a handful give thanks and gratitude when needed. The other 25% are Jedi Knights here to bail us out..

:Dliquid you do not need to answer this I would prefer other members input, but if you insist my Master you may.:D
I am kinda uncertain actually what a descent donation would be, to me your work is "priceless" but I cannot afford "priceless" and I don't want to feel like a cheap-skate either. It's worth way more than the 99cent market price.:D

Unless a ROM is in dire need of replacement, I would hold off on releases to maybe once a month. Take time and smell the roses.

You could always go the paying member route by setting up a reasonable monthly membership for downloads and only releasing teaser ROMs /Themes to the open forums.

well shit that was way to long just to say
THANKS AGAIN

ps...
that Black & Bold is just what my phone needed.

Make that X 10000!
I removed google voice search with TiBackup, rebooted and installed the new version from the market. So far, no more FC. Thanks again.

ADB commands work too.. from the command line, I did the following to remove the VoiceSearch.apk file:

Code:
adb shell
su
sysrw
cd /system/app
rm VoiceSearch.apk
sysro
sync
reboot
After rebooting, I installed Voice Search from the market and have not had FCs since! :)

Initial Setup:
Still the fastest bootup and best boot animation out there. For some odd reason, my apps didn't sync up. That's ok, I'd rather restore with TiBu, but whatev.

Appearance:
Pretty much a stock theme until you flash one of the many theme options out there. There's pretty much a theme for everyone (except maybe those looking for red, apparently). And as this ROM becomes more and more popular, many themers have been porting there tried and true themes over.

Performance:
Looks like the trend of builds ending in even numbers work better than the odd ones on my Droid. LFY1.6 has been very smooth with no lag during screen transitions. I topped out at 1630 on Quadrant and short and long benches of 176 and 481 respectively.

App and System Function:
There is occasional app opening lag. It's not every time, but it happens enough to notice, especially when receiving a call. Otherwise, every app seems to work with no issue. For some reason, my Market has been rather slow, but it has been for a few diff ROMs now and I can't relate that to any one ROM.

Battery life is def better with 1.6 as opposed to 1.5. I've really come to the conclusion that the days of going all day without needing to charge are well behind me, as this was one of the better 2.2 ROMs on battery and my phone died after 10 hours of moderate to heavy use. With very basic use, I'm sure I could stretch it to 12-16 hours, but that'd be hardly using it at all. But again, I'll add, that's better than many other 2.2 ROMs on my Droid.

Goodies:
I almost left out the "Goodies" section for this b/c LFY doesn't truly offer much in the way of extras. But I will mention I love being able to change music tracks from the lock screen. It's not quite as handy as CM's long press on the volume rocker, but it's a better option than nothing, and AFAIK, these are the only two ROMs that offer anything like it. Otherwise, you'll see the tradtional scripts and such, but that's about it.

Overview:
Very satisfactory ROM that was a vast improvement on my Droid from the previous build. It's well known that I'm a "goodies" guy and this does lack a bit in that area. But if you just want a ROM to perform and get the job done, you'll be pleased with this ROM.

Rating:
3.5 out of 5 stars (which I don't feel guilty voting a "4" in the poll)

that Black & Bold is just what my phone needed.

This is not meant in a negative way, my hope is that all things positive will come out of this...

Ok this has me a bit fired up not in an angry way but in a motivating way! When I woke up this afternoon (work nights) and I read these post I knew something has to be done!!! I am glad that LiQuID called us (me) all out on donations because he is absolutely correct as well as thaDroidz regarding how much time, energy, and effort LiQuID puts into these ROMs for all of us (me) to enjoy...and boy do I enjoy his ROMs!!!

Time is money and honestly it shouldn't take the developer informing all of us (me) what I already know...that I need to contribute and do my part in order to keep this going!

Now I, like many others here maybe new to this forum, brand new to LiQuID's ROMs, and brand new to flashing, installing, and setting up all these apps in order to get things working properly on my device but I am NOT new to knowing how to show my appreciation for the things I enjoy...I was taught this as a child!!! We are all benefiting from the creativity, hard work, and dedication of LiQuID with his FroZeN YoGurT ROMs and its time I started showing my token of gratitude even though I, like thaDroidz, does not know what a "good" donation is so I sent what I could which was $20 (FOR THIS RELEASE) and I also donated to Slayher for his hard work and dedication!

It is my belief that thaDroidz is absolutely correct with the 75% to 25% ratio on here and honestly I have been getting a little agitated with the response or lack there of when a question is asked these last few days...for me personally I have asked 3 maybe 4 questions because I really needed help and still do but have yet to get a response from anyone! I really want to send a big thanks to UBRocked and SigmunDroid for their detailed responses that helped start me off in the right direction and also thank you to javaman70, Rodeojones, and thaDroidz for all of you're incite and direction...I am so grateful all of you have helped me with my new addiction!! LOL

My rant is over thanks for listening and please lets help each other out on here especially LiQuID and Slayher because without them...well...no one would be reading this right now!!! :D

I'm open to any feedback...

is anyone having issues with their search button working? i press the magnifying glass button (which is normally tied to opening up google search) and nothing happens. not sure if this was because i updated to the new search that was recently released.

Mine works fine gotwillk...I wonder if it is because of you're update? So nothing happens when pressed?

great points! and i totaly agree with supporting the devs. as for your lack of responses to your questions i feel like it is in part due to this new sub forum. i think this was a bad idea and if this was still under the moto droid section you would be getting more responses :(

digdug1, I assume you're post was meant for me...I am not familiar with what you're talking about new sub forum? I joined a while back but never did anything on here but I was just reading something similar, all it said was "another problem with sub forums is that devs are all in same place, not split by devices"...so where does one go on here to get answers to problems or does one sit and wait? I looked at all the grayed out "logged in" lights and it almost feels like I'm standing at the front door seeing who enters and exits LOL...

a couple of weeks ago, before this section was created, roms were posted under phone specific forums. for example roms created for the motorola droid were listed under motorola droid/all things root/roms. which is where most droid one users are posting still. you will have more help there for questions not related to specific roms.
to find go back to the main screen and look under android phones and click motorola droid;)

edit: actually you will find help related to some specific roms as there are some great roms listed there still.

Awesome..thanks a lot! I now see what that other post was referring to with the problems these sub forums faced...for someone new like myself I certainly would of thought the majority would be in here on any issue ROM related or not if running this ROM! Appreciate the advice!

Edit: Ok..got it and now listing both locations as favorites!

Edit 2: Thats still under "All things Root" correct? Nevermind I see now...thanks!!
