Dolphin Browser - Updated!!

Ran the update today, but it didn't remove my previous version of Dolphin. Had to uninstall the new one which and remove the old one using advance task manager. The updated version is good but the default bookmarks aren't included which was a nice feature. Looking forward to more updates.

Thanks for the warning, I'll make sure to uninstall and update now.

Yes, when I logged into it the first time today, there was a message in the top info bar, and a pop-up message from the developer explaining that for whatever reason, that the Social/Smart one had dissapeared from the market due to a Google error and he could not get it back up. He included a new link and I had to delete the old one. Bookmarks gone.

There are only two problems I am having, and one of them I think is GDE and not Dolphin.

1) Every time I open Dolphin, it opens to a new tab. It never just simply opens. I hate that. (I think this is a GDE problem, though.)

2) No matter what I have the settings at, I can never seem to get a full page view. It is ALWAYS zoomed in. I've tried Desktop, Android, and iPhone all. No joy.

Yup, bugs the hell out of me. New tab, and it only shows one tab my current one, i click clsoe on that and sometimes get the new page, otherwise i have to click menu and then windows to see them.

One of the reasons I much prefer steel (also the fact that long press opens in new tab, unlike dolphin where i have to long press, then click link).

I really disliked the pinch-zooming in the Dolphin Browser at first, but I gotta say, the new version has greatly improved it. Still wish the double-tap zoomed exactly to the text's width, and that the pinch-zooming didn't lock in to pre-set levels and had finer granularity, though.

Also, that annoying flick-causes-zoom bug has been fixed.

Won't replace the stock browser yet, but I'm gonna start using it for some sites and see how well I can get used to it.

Multi touch still a gimic. The auto resize of text is still incredibly jerky. It needs to be much much faster if not instantaneous. If you try to zoom in on a picture, the text resize moves the screen away from the picture so you have to scroll around to find it. It needs to zoom in the area your fingers start before you push them out to zoom in. Turning off auto fit text makes it better, but that is a necessary function.

Try xscope. it has real pinch zoom, but has other problems like being really slow and doesn't resize text.
