I cannot find this phone anywhere :( CA

Look on craigslist. No one had one in stock when I was looking for one. Then I found this authorized independent seller on craigslist who had one. You know, those little verizon shops you see around. He gets a couple a week and posts on craigslist when he gets them in. The only problem with these authorized reseller is that there is an additional contract that says I can not give up my data plan before 90 days or I get charged.

I think I wasn't clear. If you go directly to Verizon you can sell your droid x and go back to a basic plan with a basic phone (that you already had). Im saying you can't do that through an authorized reseller. They have a seperate contrat that says you need to keep the data plan for a certain time. See what im saying?

I got mine by going on a waiting list at Best Buy Mobile. Had it 6 days later. Either way you'll have to wait it seems. It's well worth the wait though. Just be patient.......Good things come to those who wait, right?
I wasn't one to go through BB Mobile BTW, but they took the time to actually sit down with me and explain the OS and what things I can all do (I'm a new android owner). I've never had a Verizon CSA do this for me in person. The one time they did fo when I got my Crapberry Strom, they rushed me through it due to other customers being in the store........Another reason I liked Best Buy Mobile, is I switched to their insurance. Basically if I take a hammer to my phone, they'll replace it for free, either with a DX or whatever new cool phone may be out there that is the same retail price

Good Luck, You'll love it when you DO get it

I picked up my Droid X in Walmart as well -- just stop in and see if they have any behind the counter.

Paid $530 outright and was in and out in 15 minutes.

That's what I did on release day. I actually grapped the last 1 of the two they got!

IIRC it's only $199 out of pocket on a 2 year plan, no rebate.

I have no idea if they do a 1 year deal.
