Did you yank the blue tab?

Did you pull the blue tab to remove the clear protective backing between phone and keyboard?

My D1 didn't have the tab, I did pull the backing off, and always regretted it as it felt smoother/firmer with it on.

What did you guys do - remove or not, and any regrets if you removed it?

Until reading your post, I hadn't even noticed it. O_O I think I'm going to leave it.

Mine's still on...the blue tab bugs me, but didn't like how my D1 slide felt when I pulled it from my D1 so I'm still on the fence about it. :)

May just cut off the blue tab and let it roll..love how it slides right now.

Those are my thoughts exactly! After receiving 3 refurb D1's this week with keyboards that slid out when you tilted the phone sideways (finally complained enough and got a new D2) I am leaving it in place so the keyboard stays nice and tight. :)

I actually called VZW to ask what it was...they said it was a protective coating just for shipping, and to remove it.

I remember the discussion about removing the "plastic" on the original Droid 1 that needed to stay, but it's changed on the D2.

Normally...I'm smart enough NOT to ask, but it wasn't real obvious since it's not mentioned anywhere in their docs. lol

So yes....I actually called Tech Support over this..... /flame ON!! ;)

That's so odd...actually seeking factual information rather than sharing your own unfounded assumptions and rumors as if they were facts!?

This is the interweb, not some group of reasonable, intelligent people. Sheesh...what a weirdo.

Seriously?

Yep and when it starts to wear then I will remove the rest... I consider it to be a somewhat small, yet piece of wear and tear protection from marks of usage. I also have a hardened case and screen protector as I plan on keeping it for a fall back device if my next device fails. I like to keep all of my devices (phone or any of my 8 pc's) like they were almost new. I know its called OCD but so are the cans in the cabinet.. LOL Somewhat ridiculous but WTH
