Reboots... not exactly random, though.

I am having some problems that I believe to be app related. I decided to throw the information out to the community and see if if anyone else is having the same issues. maybe we can figure them out together.

I returned my first droid for these same problems thinking it was a DOA, but the second phone started doing it that very same night.

The problems...

When using the default browser (no other browsers do it), I get the following error message:

"The application browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.)

The reboots occur when i go into market and click the search botton at the top of the page.

The following apps are currently installed into my phone:

Alarm Clock (Default)
Amazon MP3 (Default)
Barcode Scanner
Batterytime Lite
Benchmark
Better Cut
Browser (Default)
Calculator (Default)
Calendar (Default)
Camera (Default)
Car Home (Default)

Corporate Calendar (Default)
Electrum Drum II
Email (Defailt)

Google Voice
GPS Tracker
KeepScreen
Linda File Manager

Music (Default)
Musical pro
Phone (Default)
Settings (Default)
Speed Forge 3D
Talk (Default)
Visual VM (Default)
Voice Dialer (Default)
Voice Search (Default)
Weather Widgets
YouTube (Default)

Running Services:

Google - GTalkService
Android Keyboard - Android Keyboard
Corporate Calendar - EasService
Google Voice - UpdateService
KeepScreen - KeepService
Weather Widgets - Update Service

Anyone have the same problems and matching apps?

EDIT: Forgot to mention... Rebooting and pulling the battery do not work. Pulling the SD card, however, will correct the problem for a day or so before it starts again.

This may be tedious, but it's a great way to find out where the problem lies if you want to determine for sure whether it is the phone or an app.

Uninstall everything, boot the phone completely stock. Does it have the problem? If so, easy, it's the phone. If not, install apps one at a time and keep trying to see if the problem pops up.

I don't have the problem. Hopefully I can help you debug.

I do not have installed (from your list):

Batterytime Lite
Electrum Drum II
GPS Tracker
KeepScreen
Linda File Manager (i use astro, and "explorer")
Musical pro
Speed Forge 3D
Weather Widgets

As far as running apps, the two I don't have running are:

KeepScreen - KeepService
Weather Widgets - Update Service

Perhaps try killing them first. But I like the answer above mine best (I know, it sucks time-wise, but it really is the best solution if all else fails).

Was the same SD card in both phones? Try a different SD card. Just a thought.

Nope. Both phones were completely brand new. New SD cards and everything.

Been there, done that. It is perfectly fine until I have about 6 apps on there, and then it starts doing it. I uninstall the last app I installed and reboot... still a problem. I uninstall the next one back, still a problem. I keep doing that until there are nothing but default apps left, and it still does it. Pop the battery, remove the SD card for a second, reassemble... problem gone. (for a while).

On my first phone, I had 41 apps (not including the default apps) on it. I uninstalled everything while trying to solve this issue. I finally gave up thinking it must be the phone and took it back to exchange it.

I don't mind killing KeepScreen, but it would break my heart if Weather Widget was the one causing the problems.

I've killed everything except:

GtalkService (I don't use gtalk, but I am scared to kill it... unless someone else thinks it is ok?)

Android Keyboard
Google Voice Update service
Weather Widget update service

I pulled the SD card to stop the reboots last night, so it may be a day or two before I see one way or the other.

Honestly, I'd start uninstalling apps and going from there.

Most of the issues have been software install related, but nobody is willing to keep a journal or a sticky about this.

I'll just add that I have never installed some you listed (thanks for listing!), and I have never had a problem with mine. Well I do have barcode scanner installed, that's all I can see from your list of "addons"
