I just want someone to double check my process.

1. Im on a Mac, so im going to use unrevoked 3.2 (worked fine for me)

2. Download ROM Manager and switch to Amon recovery

3. Then make him a NAND backup

4. Then, if he wants a new rom, im going to:
Wipe/reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik. Flash ROM through Amon

5. Then if he wants a kernal:
Wipe cache, Wipe dalvik. Flash kernel through Amon

Can anyone think of anything im leaving out, or anything else i should do for him? It wont be my fault, but id hate to have to hand him back an effed up phone. Lol

I'd flash him a stock ROM and a netarchy kernel and hand the phone back to him. Or better yet, let him do everything, and you watch over him. He might actually learn something, so further down the road, he won't be so dependent on you to bail him out when he gets stuck.

Thanks, great ideal. I think ill just have him stay on stock for now with netarchy then.

When we do flash the roms and kernels, that method is correct, right?

It's not the way I'd do it (I'd leave ROM manager out of it), but it should work :)

BTW, I just checked unrevoked's website, and 3.2 is still down for maintenance. So I assume you found it some other way? Just be aware that it might not work for all Evos. That's why the authors took it down.

Just a question...how do you make a nandroid backup?

Boot into recovery. It's one of the options.

To boot into recovery, power off your phone. Then, hold power and vol-down together until the white bootloader screen appears. Let it do its scan. When everything settles, use vol-down to select RECOVERY. Use Power button to select it.

Now you should be in recovery. "nandroid" should be one of the options in the menu. volume buttons to navigate the menus, power button to select.
