Help A few questions.

Whats going on everybody? I just got the Samsung Captivate 3 days ago and I love it. I have been doing research trying to figure out all the little ins and outs to this phone. There are a few things that im stop not 100% clear about and would like for you guys to shed some light on this situation for me.

1. What is Launcher Pro and how exactly is it used.

2. Is there anyway to get push notifications with emails and facebook. Im always having to check my email to see if I have any.

3. What happens when I fill up all 7 pages with apps? Will I not be able to download anymore?

Im sure there are a few questions I am forgetting. I will ask if any come up.

1. What is Launcher Pro and how exactly is it used? Launcher pro is used to replace your standard Touchwiz 3.0. You can custom launcher pro in many different ways. Check out the show me your desktops thread or something like that.

2. Is there anyway to get push notifications with emails and facebook. Im always having to check my email to see if I have any? Go to menu/accounts and sync/then make sure your emails have sync on. The wheel should be green

3. What happens when I fill up all 7 pages with apps? Will I not be able to download anymore? I believe 7 is the max

I think if you max out your pages , you can still open applications via just using application icon yes no ?

Yes you can I have 288 applications now on my captivate and the pages seem to never end from Applications tab ofcourse so just make folders within your 7 pages and you will be able to fit up to 192 apps per page with 12 apps per Folder and 16 folders per page and a total of 1344 Apps on 7 pages I think it will be a while before you fill them Don't You???

Yea I figured I would try the folders, but as I began to use them I noticed how boring they look sitting on each page.

When ever I try to sync my phone with my computer I get a message on my phone saying "Pc connection only avaliable in idle screen, close running applications". I have Advanced app killer and I closed all my apps. I also powered the phone on and off but no luck.

Do you have a launcher running? I think you have to switch back to TW to sync up. Just a guess though...

Set it to mass storage, then turn on debugging and it works like a charm. I use Launcher Pro and ATK and never have a problem connecting to pc.
