What is everyone using for notification, since Vibrant doesn't have LED

As the title states, somewheres on here there was a post where it said someone made a app for this.

But Id like to know what people are using and if its working good, the one thing I don't like about this phone is that, I know I can just use the side button to light it up to see, but I miss by led light off the Cliq.

Thanks

I use the sound notifications. I have a different sound for email, SMS and tweets. And if i happen to miss the sound, i just look. It isnt that much effort to push the side button to look. I mean really.....is it that hard to do? I just did it and it showed i have 15 tweets, 1 facebook and email. Took a whole 2 seconds.

I tried that LED thing and i didnt like it. Wouldnt let me open my lockscreen and i had a hard time shutting it off to reboot to get it out of that funk.

You have to push a button to see what your notification is anyways if you had a LED light so this is no different.

Maybe because I am in construction (owner of a co.) and alot of times I have something on my hands that I don't want on my phones, so I would leave it somewheres screen up so I could see the led blink (on my old Cliq), than if it was blinking Id get a rag clean up alil and check to see if it was a customer (some customers, tradesman don't like to wait, so I like to call them back ASAP) of mine that called/ texts etc. I don't feel like waisting time cleaning up and checking for no reason. Time is MONEY in the line of work I do, so to me thats important.

Geez, didn't think I needed to plea my case on this. You guys know that some people have different lifestyles that might make the led more important than others right?

I too am in construction. I appreciate having a multi colored LED on my G1. I can lay the phone down and tell from a distance what type of notification I have missed. Sometimes the sound of a chipping hammer covers the phone sound notification or the vibration. That is one of the reasons I returned my Vibrant. Let's hope that the G2 announced today has the $.05 LED installed so there is no future complaints.

I do miss my multi-colored notification on my blackberry. I paid $6 for that app & thought it was worth every penny. I'd be happy for a single-color led @ this point! I love everything else so it's not a deal breaker, but still.

Pretty much my feelings as well.. I think who ever overlooked it or left it out for other reasons should get smacked in the head, but since I really like everything else I'm willing to over look it.. :D

I've never had a phone with led notification, i've always relied on looking at the screen or feeling the vibration. One thing I miss from the Behold II was you could set it to vibrate repetedly until you read the txtmsg, but I suppose you could just install handcent or something like that for that feature.

Oh anyone remember the palm pda days? they had this cool dongle that would attach to the pda and had a short length of cord, about 5 or 7 inches and a multicolored led at the end, so even say if the pda was in a backpack or purse, if the led was out, you could see it. heh that would be something cool to have.

Haha, you don't need to plead your case with me, I really miss the not. led that I got used to with my Cliq XT. I really don't see why ANY smartphone would be without this honestly. It obviously wasn't a deal breaker for me but it makes the phone a bit less convenient to use on a day to day basis for me as well. If only Samsung knew someone to source cheap leds from perhaps the Vibrant would've included this feature.;)

What I'd LOVE to see is an app or even an update from Samsung that would blink the navigation buttons on the bottom of the phone in place of the not. led.

Somehow I doubt the King of LED display makers needs to source a $.02 LED from anyone. :)

Two things I miss about my Crackberry Bold... the LED notifier and the 3500mAh Seidio extended battery. The minute Seidio comes out with an extended batt for the Vibrant I'm all over it. What good's a 500 hp motor with a 2 gallon gas tank?
