fast and stable ROM?

Hi

Out of curiosity, I would like to install a custom ROM.

I don't really care whether it is 1.6, 2.1 or 2.2.
I just want it to be stable and fast.

What do you recommend?

I'm partial to the latest villain release - FroydVillain 1.5.

It's a custom 2.2 rom which is blazing fast and completely stable.

VillainROM 12 is probably more stable the Froyd 1.5, but 1.5 is faster and more up to date.

You're probably right - I should say I never tried VR12 personally.

No problems for me yet with Froyd 1.5!

this is just my personal opinion , i have only used villain12 and am now trying froyd 1.5,

i used vr12 and didnt have one problem

and since installing froyd , i have had it about a week now , probably had about 500 force closes , about 100 random reboots you name it , its happened , i've tried uninstalling etc and start again but it will not work properly for me .... however it may work perfect for you and i came round to it altho i did miss sense from vr12 i would say get froyd 1.5 and hopefully you wont have any problems like im having

I should add that adz63 has the worst luck imaginable when it comes to rooting/custom ROMs

Wow sorry to hear - that's horrible luck! Not to get off topic but did you do a full wipe first?

As I said, I haven't tried VR12, but I've used each Froyd release so far, and I've found 1.5 to be the most reliable for me. I've ye tot have a force close or any problems, and I personally like it better without all the HTC Sense branding.

To the OP, really, my best advice is start trying a few. You'll quickly see the differences and will then be able which matches your preferences for themes/speed/etc...

yes gnome i done a full wipe , you cant imagine how hard it was 2 put a custom ROM on, me xyro and slug tried for about 2 weeks day in day out and it would just not happen ,

i finally got vr12 installed and had not 1 problem i dont think , tried it for a few weeks and thought i'll have a see what 2.2 ROM is all about , everything is set up correct thanks to the help of xyro and slug again , within the 1st few days force close after force close adding music would wipe widgets completely off the phone , i changed the kernal to a lower mhz , and thought i will sit it out for a few days to see if it gets better and it just hasn't lol im sure if you saw my post about problems installing a cust ROM that im defo no quitter , and im not quitting on this either as i have grown to like it more that vr12 even tho i still have loads of probs with it , only the weak get defeated and its not going to defeat me
