Hi all,

OK, I've been lurking since I got my Eris in May..I get take it anymore! I love the Android phone, but the lag issues, battery life, and overall lack of speed of the Eris is killing me!!

I need opinions, HTC Incredible or Moto Droid 2??? I an familiar with the HTC Sense ineterafce...but its not a necessity....I would like to go to Verzon tonite and make the switch, so anu inoput is valuable...

I typically run Facebook, texting, GPS once in a while, NFL Mobile now, agenda widget...

The Eris as a phone, is..well..terrible...my wife consatntly complains about the lag...

Can the Droid 2 use the slide out keypad as well as on screen???

Thanks all

I would go with a Droid 2, hands down.
It's a great phone!
I feel your pain on the Eris. That was also my first android phone. Now I have the Motorola Droid, which I love. But i would love to get my hands on the D2. The screen is amazing.

And yes, you can also use the screen's keyboard. Even in landscape mode. You dont have to pull out the keyboard.
Also, comes with Swype.

Until gingerbread comes out, a rooted Eris would be just as good

Have you seen a rooted Eris benchmark test vs even a stock Incredible?

Why wait until an "unofficial" software is released?

The OP is wanting to know our opinion between to current devices, not asking us what our thoughts of the possible future might be.

Just saying....

He also stated his reasoning for wanting to upgrade to the D2 or Inc which was his/her phone was slow and laggy. I was simply pointing out that there is a simple solution to those problems, root.
